A Bit of Lifestyle Changes This Year

There are some lifestyle and habits that I will need to drop this year for my health sake. Throughout 2025 I struggled with sleep deprivation, causing headache most of the time because I wasn't sleeping early almost every day. At times I do go to bed by 2 a.m. or even 4 a.m. The worst thing about this is that I still wake up by 6 a.m. no matter the time I go to bed.

Looking back now, I can clearly see how unhealthy that routine was.

I had a lot of burnout periods during 2025 because of sleeplessness, and even had fever and flu frequently. Because of my busy schedule during the day, I only had more free time to do my online grinding at night. This nature of life really affected my health and cost me money for treatment and buying drugs. Money that I could spend on things that are valuable, I ended up spending it on medication.

That alone was a big wake-up call for me.

I think I need to give my health the priority that it deserves this year. After reviewing my health status and discovering the reason why I was falling sick too frequently throughout last year, I came to the decision to create a balance between my real-life endeavors and online activities. Health is wealth, and I need to be healthy to be able to do the things that I have to do.

Now, I have decided to be sleeping early, at most 10 p.m., no matter what happens. If I don't finish what I want to do online by that time, I pass it over to the next day. But I still have to do some of the online stuff during the day when I am less busy. I need to be at my optimal health this year because I have a lot to do. I need to be there for my kids always and give them the protection they need from me.

Moreover, I have also decided to start a morning exercise routine. Instead of getting up in the morning and rushing to sit in front of the laptop or browsing on my phone, I go out for a walk or jog during the early morning cold. It might not be a very long-distance walk or jogging, but the few distance I covered every morning since I started has been so satisfying.

Sometimes, it’s the little steps that make the biggest difference.

I have even noticed some changes in my body because of the morning exercise. The usual body pains I used to have seem to have disappeared, and I am feeling fitter each day.

Though it has only been a week since I started implementing these changes in my life, I am hoping to keep to them all through the year. Hopefully, I should be able to keep to them.
