Rivers have such power. Every time the big rain comes, they change so much around. And if humans are on top of that unaware enough to take the trees from the riverside, then the river can rampage even more freely, pulling away more sand. Erosion is no toy!
It is a mighty force for sure! We actually found a riding lawnmower that the river stole from somewhere and it ended up on the sandbar there where we were. See @silvertop's post for that picture.
During the December flood, there was a picture posted of a hot tub headed downstream as well. A couple of weeks later, someone spotted it in Bellingham Bay, so it made it out to sea! Crazy!

Wow. Imagine travelling the river in that... Or lime Pippi Longstocking, in a barrel down the waterfall...
!LOLZ Yep-it would be quite the trip! That hot tub was originally sited at the bridge in my post. It took it several days-maybe even a week or two, to show up in the bay. I saw the original photo taken from the bridge and then this one, and it is definitely the same hot tub.
