Sorry to read about the food poisoning, that is nasty. Good enough reason to not go back I guess... Or at least not have the prawns again :-D Those frickles sound like something I would love to try. Is it a special type of pickles?
Thank you @beelshops! I might would say they are garlic dills sliced length ways and dipped in a salty spicy mixture and deep fried. I guess you could come up with your own spices. They were quite tasty even though I couldn't imagine it before I tasted them. Let me know if you do something with the idea.
