Sometimes people just need someone to listen. They don't need you to take on their issues or anything. It is good you were able to listen to her offload. I am sure she appreciated it.

Absolutely, and I'm glad to do so. But when someone tells me they want to discuss something, than I expect something more interactive. As opposed to "I'd liked to talk with you". But I get it, too, sometimes we don't know what we actually want until in the middle of it.
