Finally back at the beach – my first walk on the beach after the Christmas break
After a few weeks of holiday hustle and bustle, family visits, and that unique winter coziness, I finally made it back to the beach today. And honestly, it felt like a little fresh start.
The weather was surprisingly fantastic—clear air, a little sun, exactly the kind of day when you just can't stay indoors. So I grabbed Ella, who gets totally excited at the mere mention of the word “beach,” and off we went.
And apparently, lots of other people had the same idea today. Normally, I don't like it when it's so crowded – for me, beach walks are about peace and quiet, space, switching off my mind. But today was different. Maybe it was the good mood, maybe it was the long break, or maybe it was just Ella, who immediately started her mission to “greet all the dogs.” She had an incredible amount of fun, racing across the sand with a whole bunch of other dogs and grinning the whole time – yes, my dog can grin.
Despite the crowds, I really enjoyed the afternoon. I walked a total of 6 kilometers and could have gone even further. In between, I had a hot chocolate, which was the perfect complement to the fresh breeze and the salty scent in the air. So simple, so good.
Now I'm sitting at home again, slightly tired, sandy shoes beside me, Ella sleeping deeply and contentedly—and I realize how good this little outing has been for me. Sometimes a walk by the sea is enough to clear your head a little.
