My Actifit Report Card: March 10 2026

in Actifit5 days ago

My entry in bucipuci's Around the World Challenge 44/6 is a photo I took the other day from Rip View Lookout at Point Lonsdale, Victoria, Australia. The view is the entrance into Port Philip Bay from Bass Strait, where all the ships pass to get Melbourne. I found it interesting because I pretty much grew up in Melbourne for 20 years but never have been here before.
You can see Point Lonsdale Pier to the right and Point Nepean just over 3km away on the other side of the passage.

I love that jetty and that view. The rip is so treacherous and narrow... Bizarre how that feeds into Port Phillip Bay!

A sign board said someone swam to the other aide in just over an hour.

What an absolutely spectacular view!! It reminds me a little of what we see when we look out from Table View in Cape Town, toward Robben Island.

Thanks for curation.

What a view! Amazing!

I would like to take in some of that water. Hang out on the beach some. Is it quiet there?

For perspective, the circle is Melbourne, the arrow is where @new.things took the photo, and the blue dot is me.

There are much better beaches than this one in Australia, but Point Lonsdale is quiet and good for a bit of a walk.

Never knew that spot existed in Melbourne, love the pier angle.
