Let's just !HOPE though that your ISP's service continues to work fine long enough !INDEED! πŸ€—πŸ˜ !WEIRD !PIZZA

Yeah but it reminds me how we're just slave of the system and that even such a companies doe with us what they want. Long live decentralization !HOPE !wine !PIZZA

Let's ask @tydynrain about what he thinks about the term "decentralized Internet service provider" !INDEED! πŸ€―πŸ€“ !WEIRD !HOPE !STRIDE

That's basically what Qortal is working to build, especially with the integration of Reticulum/mesh technology. Centralized anything, including internet service providers, are all going bye bye. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

The #Reticulum technology is interesting !INDEED. 😎 @crrdlx has published some posts and comments about that here on Hive within the past 8 months. πŸ€“ I have read posts online about that encrypted by design network stack being usable on common hardware, but still needs widespread adoption. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ€“

Reticulum seems great for sure. The problem I see at the moment is that it is all still very hardware nerdy. The users seem to spend most of their time explaining and talking about their rigs. It involves software, special hardware, soldering, etc which weeds out almost everyone. It'll take time, in my view.

Given #Reticulum's technical requirements, even someone who would like to try it out can't simply purchase a "ready-to-use Reticulum kit" or something (online) and use it (at home). πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ€―πŸ€“ !WEIRD !LOLZ

There are some ready to use meshtastic devices, I think. They look a lot like an old blackberry. Still, I wonder.

I saw quite a lot of negative reviews on that product page of that suppsedly "ready-to-use" device for #Reticulum, citing problems with some parts not working properly !INDEED. πŸ€―πŸ€“ !WEIRD !HOPE !PIZZA

It sure is, and that's interesting to know, especially since most people aren't aware of it yet. Yes, it allows communication and networking across a wide array of frameworks, including long-range radio, among many others. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Would that exist? !WEIRD !HOPE !wine

The technology already exists according to @tydynrain on his comment, though what it needs is wider adoption !INDEED. πŸ€“ !HOPE !WEIRD !PIZZA

Reticulum isn't integrated yet, though that is in process. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

!SLOTH

I thought on your other comment that #Reticulum is already integrated on #Qortal. 🀯 It would have been better if you replaced "integration" with "plan to integrate" !INDEED to avoid confusion. πŸ˜…

Sorry for the confusion. The integration is in process, and undergoing ongoing testing, so it's far more along than just planned. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

That means in short, the #Qortal platform has already started implementing #Reticulum, but it is still in testing phases (which some may call as "alpha" or "pre-alpha") stage. πŸ€“

Before it's bye bye centralized ISP's, it's going to take some time I believe !LOL !wine

I think that centralized ISPs in this case would not disappear, but rather remain as a (non-mainstream) alternative for people who prefer not to choose decentralized ones for any reason. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜…

Haha the opposite world as it it now... interesting... !HOPE !INDEED !BBH

That's why quite many people already want to push decentralization for most things !INDEED. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜Ž !HOPE !WEIRD !PIZZA
