Back to work today after driving our daughter to school. Was a busy day played quite a bit with Copilot that is using GPT 5.0.
I must say that it is not really ready for prime time but can be used as a tool to enhance programming productivity.
Tomorrow was supposed to be our production deployment day, but we moved it to Thursday, because Wednesday is our first day of Return To Office, so we will not be available to support the website in case anything goes wrong.
Basically Return to the Office is an out of office day that has to be planned around. Idiocracy at its best or this is what happens when politics prevails over common sense.
We are going to the office to get on teams calls and supposedly it provides better team synergy, but we are all in different states and countries.
And those who are local are coming back to different buildings on different days lol. When we worked remotely for five years they were touting increased productivity, environmental benefits of no commute, etc until last year when the whole RTO process started.
This is the worst thing that they can do for employee morale and productivity. After 90 minute commute for no reason there will be no desire to go an extra mile productivity wise.
I will get more steps and get to work out at our gym in the building which pretty much guarantees that I will put in less hours actually working. The direction from upper management is to be seen and interact with people so that pretty much guarantees that aside from the online meetings which will sound like we are calling from the call center because they packed us in next to each other no actual work will get done.
And of course this one day a week is just a start , they are already talking about three to five days in the office. Seattle needs their lunch money.
End of Return To Office rant 😆
I am going back this Wednesday, but then taking Friday through next Wednesday off as a vacation. Whidbey Island is going to be a lot more fun than Seattle.
On Friday we will have my wife's brother and his girlfriend as well as my mother in law there.
Today was able to get ten thousand steps once again and planning to do a weight lifting workout tomorrow, so that should help me achieve ten thousand steps once again.
Nothing like the freshly cut lawn, I love the smell of mowed grass and the orderly look that it gives to the lawn.
I did let the grass over grow a bit too much, so it was more challenging than usual and had to empty the bag very frequently.
