“We Are Off To Maui!”🤗
Unfortunately, this won’t be Silvertop and Liz!😮
Keith and Lynne our neighbors at the top of our street pulled their red Tesla to a stop alongside Silvertop……………
“Silvertop we are headed out dude, to the land of Sunshine and Palm trees!”
“Lynne…. So you’re not hanging around for the rain Lol?”😅
“I don’t think so Silvertop, it looks like a “Pineapple Express” is headed your way, we’re getting out of Dodge….Man!”😇
“Safe travels my friends!”………..and they drove out of sight!
Instead of Maui, Silvertop was headed up to the clear cut, to see how the burning of the left over scrap was progressing………
Like Lynne stated, a very powerful warm wind, was blowing a storm in from the Southwest!🙄
We tend to get storms either from the Northeast or southwest…………..
Northeast…..Nor’easters, bring bitter cold weather down from Canada.🥶
Southwest storms “pineapple express” tend to be much warmer, and sometimes they are accompanied by, extremely dangerous high winds!😳
Fires that the loggers started weeks ago, were still smoking today! I was very surprised to see these fires still burning deep underground, two weeks later!🙄
Silvertop was facing North, when I snapped the last three panorama photos………..
Suddenly the Southwest wind stopped, and a strong Nor’easter wind tossed my ball cap into the air, landing over thirty feet away!🙄
Then the wind stopped………………
Wow………….
Whoever builds a home up here better be prepared for some powerful winds shifting back and forth from all directions Lol!😮
I started hiking with one hand on my ball cap, so I wouldn’t be chasing it anymore today Lol!😇
Yep it was time to head back home, Sunset was in less than thirty minutes, and the wind was making it feel much colder than it actually was!🥶
Someone at Church this morning told us that the pineapple express was going to miss us up here, it was headed further South!😊
Silvertop is crossing his fingers!😇
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊

Strange to see the sun out! Bright light! Bright light!🤗😘🎄

😎.....🥰

Maui is a whole different world again! That's wild about the rapidly-shifting winds at the top of the mountain! You don't see that in many places! Oh, by the way, usually when fires burn underground for long periods of time, it's because there are coal deposits. Some keep burning for years. I hope you guys get nice warm, gentle winds, and with lots of sun, of course! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I have read that about Coal burning underground for years ........somewhat scary!🙄
I don't think that's the issue here, I think it's massive piles of tree debris piled up 20 feet deep.... just so much wood laying around to burn!!😳

Ah, OK, I see. Yes, 20-foot high piles of trees and debris would definitely burn for a while too! It would be cool if you could cook with it! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I am also wondering, what kind of fuel they are using to get this fire started in pouring down rain….
All the wood is soaking wet!
I am suspecting diesel fuel, and probably a lot of it!😮

That's a good point, and you're probably right. Wet wood is not easy to light at all, so they'd definitely need some extra help! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Next time I get close by, I’ll try to watch and see what they use…😇

I don't work with diesel much, so I don't even remember what it smells or looks like, would you be able to tell from a distance? 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I’ve been trying to figure it out……
I can’t really tell from a distance, the fires are so intense!😳

At least you have some sunshine. It has completely disappeared here in the UK! 🙁
!ALIVE

I hope you get some sunshine my friend!😎
Looks like we were playing musical chairs here..... our sunshine is gone now Lol!😅😇🤣

I'm glad they get a chance to head out to Hawaii! I've never made it there myself, only the Caribbean!

Beautiful pictures in there today, and some nice shadow people there! lol I hope that rain stays away and you keep up with the warm weather!

Looks like Keith and Lynne escaped the high winds as well!😳
Just when I thought we were had enough rain, the wind is picking up......Lol Life in the Pacific Northwest!!😅😇🤣
