My Actifit Report Card: March 10 2026

in Actifit5 days ago

We had a nice quick trip up to Flagstaff so Lulu could get a quick recheck of her hips so we didn't go out for a hike together. Instead, we did a little walk up in Flagstaff while I went up to the local hill trails for a late afternoon 5 mile hike.

there were a couple of cars at the trailhead parking area and several mountain bikers passed by on my hike but there was plenty on room for them to pass and it was nice to see these trails getting a lot of use.
Despite the bright sun the temperature was moderated by a steady breeze and enough clouds to shade things a bit. A bit of precipitation recently and the warming weather has made the local desert wildflowers starting to open and there were plenty to brighten the trailsides.

The trail was a scenic climb that wound up and around the prominent little hill in the area and it was a good cardio workout grinding up the single track as it wound around the hill, finishing up with an expansive view of Mingus Mountain above and Cottonwood below.

Then it was downhill to the base of the hill and another couple of miles of rolling trail back towards the trailhead with the bright and noisy jays in the scrub and more wildflowers coloring up the trail as the sun began to drop behind the mountains.

I treated myself and Lulu to some nicely wood-fired grilled steaks for dinner.
Take care all my Actifit friends and see you tomorrow.
