A busy "day off" front hatchery work but the volunteers took part in the Spearfish 4th of July parade with a float which was a nice couple if miles extra steps undercloudy skies (but still a fun event). 
First things first I had to get out for a strong 4 mile loop along the new and not worn in bike trails. The rolling and curvy course is really fun to run and sure beats the roads or concrete paths. Just enough of a challenge but not overwhelming.
The sky was dark and threatening rain when the parade started but we managed to finish up happy and dry and it seems the townsfolk had a great time as well.
Hopefully it will be a mellow 4th.
