Still hot and miserable for exercising but getting out early in the morning helped me to avoid the extreme heat that rolled in later on (up to 106 in the afternoon).

It was a tough grind climbing the long hill up to the beautiful development above the hatchery and I was panting hard when I leveled off for a few yards before continuing another, less steep, climb to the upper trailhead for the new biking trails.
Lots of turkeys out grazing in the yards along with a couple of deer. They're used to people so they didn't pay any attention to me as I trudged past.

From there is was a tricky descent along the multitude of narrow switchbacks that brought me back to the campground and I finished up just under 5 miles looping through more bike trails.
Added a couple of hours of heavy weeding of our main viewing pond and that was enough on this hot day.
