I was able to get out for an earlier morning run and thus was able to avoid the oppressive heat that came later on
Still, it was a tough day to be exercising outdoors. 
I ran into town and then UP a long climb to the old cemetery overlooking the area. It was close to a mile of steady ascent but my legs handled it well and I was treated to great views of Spearfish from the summit that I circled a couple of times before heading back down onto the back recreational path to home.
Heavy late afternoon rains helped cool us down a bit but tomorrow will be hot once again.
