I had to get out earlier for my run so that I could do a few hours of pond weeding at the hatchery before the heat rolled in.
It quickly hit the new bike trails for a steep up and down couple of miles before leveling off onto the more mellow trails.
As I started down onto the new trail literally ran into Avery unhappy Prairie Rattlesnake warming itself on the side of the trail.

Luckily I spotted him before getting too close and his loud buzzing rattle was enough to alert anything nearby.
He coiled up for awhile before slithering off to hide among the rocks in the dry creek bed and continued on my way.

The next few miles were uneventful and the cooler morning was great as the almost 6 miles were great.
