It took me the first mile to get into a decent rhythm of running before my body finally felt good and loose and my run became enjoyable.

As soon as I veered off onto the rolling and dusty trails my pace picked up a bit (even though it was a trail) and the sun felt great running in just shorts.
The next 3 miles were good as I was able to manage a steady sub 11 pace and never felt bad.
A boring half mile concrete path leg to home and it was another good day in the logbook.
About 3 weeks until my first "race" in a year with the Black Hills Super 6 trail run coming up - I'm actually running just the 3 hour option so hopefully the heat and humidity will be tolerable and I can run the whole time.
