I've had a day, I can tell you. A real day. Our sales person jumped ship, and today was his last day, so I went on and worked it with him to see how things are going, meet new clients he had acquired, and figure out other things that I had been curious about for a while now. And I will have to do sales for a few weeks, which means I won't be able to hive as much. Unfortunately. But we'll see, maybe I can re-arrange everything in a way that lets me maintain this fun hobby of mine. Now, photos.
We went to Chachimbiro on Saturday, hot springs, with Ellie's whole family. Besides being a fun and relaxed days, I took advantage to do some photos with her, training a little. These were all taken with auto, but next time I will go for pro mode since the shutter speed is incredibly important when taking pictures in motion.
The auto mode has to think a lot about everything. In pro mode, I can put the settings myself, and then it shoots right when I press the trigger - without a 1 second delay that causes the scene to change completely. For this picture, I had to press the trigger when Ellie was in the rear, almost just starting her descend, to catch her at that spot which is almost the top of the other side.
Frontal movement was much easier. Here I caught Ellie's nephew right in the air, coming down from the slide in full speed. It's a great slide, I did it, and caused quite the splash. But nobody took pictures of that. Everyone always wants pictures taken, but they never want to return the favor. Humans.
Playing with the macro lens here. This kind of wood bark gives a wonderful display for black and white, too, but I didn't think of that when taking the picture. The focus seems to be a little off, though, but I can't tell why.
This one was about light. The sun was somewhat behind the tree, and it took me several attempts to get the light right so the colors would come out nicely.
I walk by this tree many times a week. And never thought about taking a picture. But that evening, with the light fading towards the right side, and the dog walking on the sidewalk towards me.
It's a fluffy grey cat on the balcony of a blue building. Of course it's a favorite!
Eerie evening! The moon is just about to come out behind the clouds covering Mt. Imbabura. Below it lie the villages next to the Panamericana, with Peguche on the right being the biggest, and there are the outskirts of the city of Atuntaqui on the left. Only the light beam in the middle is a little disturbing.
Twin peak for Mt. Cotacachi? No, one is just a cloud. I wish I had more time to take the picture better, without the clatter, but I had to enter for Tang Soo Do class. Maybe another day.
