My latest updates

I thought it might be a good idea to write a post just to avoid making my friends worry about me.

I am alive, staying in Kyiv, and this fact sometimes surprises me.

Earlier, in June, I went to visit my girlfriend in Spain again, hoping that it would be a wonderful holiday for my husband and me. But he was not released from the service, it was a time of heavy fighting in eastern Ukraine, and one of his colleagues was killed. So I didn't take a holiday and worked remotely. Before returning home (which take at least 24h of travel), I took 4 days off just to relax before the long journey, and to have a day to rest after return. But... in the morning of the first day, I read on news that the ruzzian missile hit 5-storey residental house 200 meters from mine. I don't know how to convey these feelings. It must have been a shock... Although, my hubby was sleeping at home at the moment, he was okay and all our windows were intact. There were 1 broken window below us and 1 on the ground floor. I decided not to stay with my thoughts, far from home, but to go to a neighbouring town to relax and take a walk. Because of my condition, I had an unpleasant situation that cost me a couple of hundred euros. However, at least I was able to finally cry.

Eventually, my hubby got his 15 days vacation. We did not make plans about abroad trip and booked our usual house in the mountain village in Carpathians. A few days ago we survived another massive drone and missile attack on Kyiv. It was preceded by a huge thunderstorm raging over Kyiv for 3 nights in a row, with the doors shaking from the thunder. It was frightening. And then in the night a Russian missile destroyed part of a 9-storey residential building with a direct hit. Thirty-one people died there. It was close enough for me to feel our house shake. Our walls are quite thin, and we can hear drones and even missiles flying overhead. They fly very low.

If you map out the places where drones, missiles and wreckage fell, my neighbourhood will look like Swiss cheese.

But now I AM ON VACATION! I AM WITH MY LOVED ONES!

Yesterday we made all the way from Kyiv to my hometown on the west of Ukraine. It took 7 hours of driving. We passed by many stupid car accidents but arrived to my mom's place safe and sound. And I slept so good! ❤️ Night air raids are rare here, well, not every night at least.

Today I had a lovely day with my daughter and a hubby. Priceless moments together. I miss my mum so much, and my hometown.

I'm in total disbelief that this war still rages on. I've wondered how you've been since I saw the news about the increasing Russian missile strikes on Kyiv. Here in America the news of the war rarely makes headlines anymore since there's such a political circus raging here on the home front. I hope peace comes soon and I'll be praying for your safety!

political circus

Spot on mate. US really can finish our nightmare though. The rest is easy - political will. Today showed that war will continue. Sometimes it feels like the war will go on all my life ((

What an endless nightmare for you all! I really hope an end comes soon

Thank you ❤️

I really am worried for you whenever I hear about the attacks in Kyiv😖 but I know you will be safe and strong.

Give yourself the well deserved break from all the crap and enjoy the calm and tranquility with Nick and Nat. Say hi to them!

Thank you, dear, and greetings from them to you and Simon!

Being with your loved ones is bliss. Hang in there, enjoy these moments and let's hope this madness stops as soon as possible. Hug from Portugal!

Thank you for your kind words. Warm greetings and !LUV

Thanks for the post we do worry about you with the news of drone attacks and missiles on Kyiv.
Slava Ukraini.

Enjoy your break the peace and quiet, good that you are all safe. It is annoying here in the Uk that your invasion and illegal war now hardly gets a mention, it seems that they all want to focus on israel and Palestine. Some of us look beyond that and still keep you dear to our hearts. Ukraine must and will survive and bring putin to his end.
Slava Ukraini

Your words reminded me of an article that recently appeared in the New York Times authored by Niall Ferguson "A genocide is under way - but it's not in Gaza".

Thank you so much for keeping us in your minds and in your prayers. Maybe this is why we are still alive, who knows )

The bravery of men and women such as you and hubby are why you are winning.

I can’t even imagine how hard it is to live through that kind of fear and still stay strong. I admire your bravery and how you still find moments of peace with your loved ones.

Than you, @iamlovelykate ❤️🙏

There's a lot of news about your place but luckily you and your family are arrived safely . I hope everything goes well.

Sounds like a nightmare fr...

Glad you're safe..

Thanks!

Happy to know you are ok, @zirochka ! ❤️ To be honest, in the past days I checked your blog here to see if you wrote a new content to know you was ok and I was a little in worry. ❤️ Warm warm hugs to you and your hubby.

Thank you so much @silviabeneforti, it means a lot to me ❤️ I miss your beautiful country. Hope to see it again if we will see the war ends.

Sending you my virtual !LUV

Good to hear that you and your family are okay! I hope that the war will end sooner rather than later and that things will return to normal... It has to come to an end!
Enjoy your vacation, and hopefully, your hubby will have no reason to return to the battlefield...

I wish you many peaceful nights! All the best! 💜

I'm glad you finally got to take a vacation, and see family. That's so important. And the pictures are lovely. It looks so peaceful. Hard to realize there's a war raging.

In summer, this is especially striking. A kind of oxymoron. Lush greenery, flowers, and behind them black burnt facades, the remains of walls. The whole world looks at this with regret, but does not do enough to stop Russia.

Over here, we get a lot of conflicting information about whose "fault" the war is. It gets confusing. I just know war never is a good thing for the ordinary citizen, and nobody really wins except the people who make money off it.

Russia put a lot of money and efforts to win the informational campaign, this goes without saying. It started long before 2014. They spread their fakes all around. Ukraine is much smaller, and we did not have money for fighting with fakes and pushing the truth, our voice is weak. But Ukraine did not threaten Russia, did not cross its state border, and did not carry out provocations on its territory. These are facts. It was unprovoked war.

After the last massive attack on Kyiv on July 31th, Russian state media openly wrote that all Ukrainians should die. What is it??

That is an awful thing for Russia to say!
