The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

For the first Vera Wong book I gave 4 stars. This one gets 3 because it was not as good as the 1st one. Having said that, this won't stop me from reading any other Vera Wong stories. Vera Wong is very funny, and lovable. Vera Wong will definitely be up there with Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Marple, and any other famous sleuths. The thing I like about Vera Wong is that it is a different representation. I am always looking for the Asian, Latine, Indigenous, Black or mixed individuals who are also sleuths. Vera Wong is your Asian female version of Poirot. She is witty, sassy, and expects respect. Like all famous sleuths, some of their cases I will love and some I won't like, but this does not take away from the character. I am sure the other Vera Wong stories that are coming will keep me reading. I gave this one 3 stars because it was predictable. I was able to see where the book was going from the beginning. Maybe it is due to my career experiences that I was able to identify exactly what was going on. I don't like to know what is happening.
