Hey, hey, let's bring some color to the streets.

Hello, my active friends from our GuestAuthor project. I hope you’re having a great day and a great week. This is Fonestreet reporting live from the streets of Punta de Marta, Monagas State.

Those of you who already know my blog know that my life revolves around urban culture;

  • skateboarding
  • photography
  • painting
  • music

For me, graffiti isn’t just about painting—it’s about giving a voice to the walls of my town, those that often look gray and dull but that I see as canvases ready to tell a story or capture a moment.

Today I want to share the process of my latest street art project and, while I’m at it, tell you a little about what it has meant to me to be part of such a special initiative here on the blockchain.

The first part of the process is moving from the mind to the wall.

Painting in this area is always an adventure. Sometimes the weather helps us; the difficulty in getting materials is quite a challenge, but when you have the idea in your head that need to capture something on a wall nothing can stop you.

Although I didn’t have many contrasting colors this time, I wanted them to really pop under the midday sun. I started by sketching these lines—which, while I might call them the main lines, are also the final lines—since this is a single stroke done with a brush and white paint. The first pass is a bit light, just to outline the letters and define the shapes.

The secret to street graffiti is speed and control over the pressure of the spray can, and although I did this design with a brush tip at first, I did highlight the background with some purple and blue gradients, and little by little, the wall came to life.

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude as a Guest Author with DUO/HOC.*

Creating art on the street requires a lot of discipline, but so does staying active creating content on Web 3, and this is where I want to pause to talk about something amazing that has happened to me.

I know you all know me thanks to my participation in the Guest Author program organized by the folks at HOC and the DUO team. Since creating art here in Venezuela can sometimes be quite a challenge, I’d like to extend my deepest thanks to friends like @bitcoinman, @thelastdash, and @bulliontools for creating this space of opportunity for many of us Venezuelans. It’s not just about receiving a vote or a reward (though we are very grateful for it, as it allows us to continue buying our painting supplies and meet our basic needs) it’s also about you believing in our talent and giving us a platform to showcase what we do in our neighborhoods and communities.

This kind of encouragement and these opportunities allow me to focus on what I love doing most urban art knowing that there’s a solid team backing the project and helping me ensure my work reaches more people around the world.

How u see this result?

And after a while of good music and the smell of spray paint, this is how this new addition to the streets turned out;

Every wall I paint is another step in my growth as an artist and as a person. I’m so happy to be able to leave this mark on my town and share it with all of you on this incredible blockchain.

  • What do you think of this design?
  • What colors would you like to see in the letters, and what are your general thoughts on this type of art?

I’d love to read your comments, and I’m also sharing these videos of the process and the final result.

See you on YouTube, on the streets, or soon here on the blockchain.
