Birds on a Wire

in Black And White12 days ago (edited)

On the wire means on air. Don't miss the broadcast.

The magpie was broadcasting long-distance — looked like serious news. The dove stayed silent but held perfect position: her signal was stable. The waxwings caused interference — one sat crooked, three more piled up together, crests sticking up like antennas catching several stations at once. No one coordinated the airwaves, no one waited for permission — they just switched on and transmitted whatever they had. Then it went quiet. The wires emptied. The broadcast ended before I could listen it through. But I got the shot.

Thanks for tuning in! 🕊️
