Rising in Montenegro, it flows through Bosnia and Serbia, carving its way through deep canyons with steep, almost vertical walls. Near Višegrad, the road opens up to some of the most striking views: the river narrows into a thin ribbon, winding quietly between the mountains, its water shifting from deep green to turquoise as the light changes. It feels wild, almost untouched — which is exactly what makes it so hard to look away.
