The Last Shore

in Black And White6 days ago (edited)

You used to be able to just come to this pond and take a walk. Admire the view, think your own thoughts. That time is gone.

There used to be lots of seagulls here, even swans. Now only the hardiest remain — ducks.

People used to walk their pets here…

…or just come with friends.

Parents brought their kids to play football or watch the ducks.

You could ride a bike along the shore.

Nature was right here — and the city, just two hundred meters away.

You could easily drive up in a car, pull out a paddleboard, and…

…glide across the whole pond with quiet pleasure.

Now the city has taken over this land — there’s no access to the shore anymore. And places like this are disappearing from my hometown, one by one.

It’s just how it is.

Thank you for stopping by!
