Monday came and the three friends agreed to see their school principal with the hope that he will reduce their suspension. They are already afraid of what their parents will do should they just return home just three weeks after resumption.
Jack was the ringleader. He dressed like a cowboy with a cap. Jones was the smart one. He turned up with a simple wear - jeans and brightly coloured polo while Max dressed up in his native attire.
As soon as it was nine in the morning the "three musketeers" stormed their school. They went straight to the principals office. He was on seat, having supervised the morning devotion. As soon as they came into his office, the principal pretended as if he did not see them. Jack who was still in his cap, refused to take off that stupid looking cap, even though Jones kept promoting him to do so.
The silence was deafening. As if on cue the three boys chorused "goodmorning sir"; slowly the principal responded and waved them to sit down. No one was courageous to speak. And after a brief spell of silence, Jack decided to talk.
The principal listened to him with rapt attention and at the end of the day refused to reduce their suspension and urged them to stay away from the school premises from then henceforth.
