ESTA ES MI PARTICIPACIÓN EN EL MINICONCURSO.
No puedo dejar de lado estos sabores de mi infancia además del toddy y en la actualidad el café con leche, el arroz con leche me trae a esos recuerdos de las meriendas en la tarde, así fuera caliente recién hecho que me dejaran la olla con el pegado o cuando ya se enfriaba el arroz con leche para comerlo en la merienda de las tardes al terminar la tarea. Sentada aquí me imagino pasando la cuchara por la olla y quemándome la boca tratando de obtener lo mejor de ella. Hay algo que la leche que nos calma, esa asociación con la madre y el mirar los ojos amorosos de una madre.

I can't let go of these flavors from my childhood, besides toddy, and now coffee with milk. Rice pudding brings back memories of afternoon snacks, whether it was freshly made hot and they left me the pot with the sticky residue, or when the rice pudding was already cold, ready to eat for an afternoon snack after finishing homework. Sitting here, I imagine running the spoon through the pot and burning my mouth trying to get the most out of it. There's something about milk that calms us, that association with our mothers and looking into a mother's loving eyes.

Que bonito comentario, el hacer la conexión de esta bebida con el amor materno, es algo muy cierto. Me hiciste recordar a mi mamá, a ella también le encanta el ahumado de la olla cuando se hace el arroz con leche, jajajajaja.

As I am lactose intolerant, I use almond milk as substitue. But I do drink dairy milk if there are no other options, especially when ordering from cafes or restaurants.

I work from home most days so I make my own morning drink to start mu day. I alternate between cafe latte and matcha latte but I sometimes combine my protein drink with cafe latte. When it’s cold season like winter, I like my drinks hot. When weather starts to get warm, I make iced drinks.

It’s not a drink but I have started making my own yogurt too, but of course it’s made with dairy milk. I wonder if I can make yogurt with almond milk 🤔 I should try it soon.

Welcome to the community.

I think it's great that you're making your own yogurt, and yes, you can make yogurt with almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, or any other plant-based milk. Since I see you're not vegan, you can use some of the whey that drains from the yogurt (you can put it in a cloth, in the refrigerator, overnight, to collect the whey), and you can experiment with it.

If you're diagnosed as lactose intolerant, you can consume lactose-free milk, which will be good for you. I don't know if there are goat or sheep milk where you live, but that type of milk is also a good alternative for those with lactose intolerance.

Milk is very versatile and can be combined with many ingredients and be part of any of our meals.

ohh I probably should try making yogurt with plant-based milk. Thanks for the tip. I actually used the whey when I make sourdough bread so that I don’t waste it. Might need to think of other ways to use it.

I haven’t seen any goats milk here, maybe some big grocery stores have it. But I’ll experiment with coconut milk first. ❤️

It's great that you use whey to make sourdough starter. You can also use yogurt whey to make natural sodas; it's very healthy and versatile. Try different recipes.

Felicitaciones a los ganadores. Muchísimas gracias por los premios. Vaya me hicieron recordar cuando iba con una cuchara a comerme la leche en polvo con un poquito de azúcar, a escondidas en la cocina. O cuando me preparaba un toddy full de leche.

....THIS IS MY PARTICIPATION IN THE MINI CONTEST....

I tend to drink very little milk because I was diagnosed as lactose allergic, from there I have had to make some adjustments in my life to get rid of the terrible discomfort of allergic rhinitis. I have managed to try some plant milks such as `coconut milk`, `oat milk` and `sesame milk.` I usually use them when I drink coffee with milk at home and also in cakes and rice pudding. Maybe the taste is not the same but I like it, plus my quality of life has improved a lot by not drinking cow's milk.

Sometimes I make some disorders and I dare to drink chocolate or a coffee with milk when I am out of the house, but then when I get rhinitis I regret having consumed it. It's all a matter of getting used to it and adapting what is more beneficial to our health.

It's good to see you participating.

Assuming you're lactose-intolerant, the wisest thing to do is consume plant-based milks, like the ones you mentioned, and even make them yourself (you can share each recipe in this community). Coconut milk is delicious; it's great for making strawberry smoothies. Sesame milk is also very tasty, just by itself.

I know from observation and the experiences of people I know that replacing cow's milk with goat or sheep milk, has been beneficial for them, but I don't know if it would apply to you.

In any case, consuming plant-based milks is very healthy, and the best part is that they're cruelty-free.

Hola espero se encuentren muy bien , esta es mi participación en el mini concurso:

En lo particular me encanta la leche, sea fría o caliente, pero lo que más me gusta es poder combinarla con un buen café , que da como resultado un café con leche.
Me hace recordar mi tierra Venezuela, que dónde llegues en casa de los abuelos , mamá o hermanos siempre .. Pero siempre te sirven un buen café con leche con pan , eso ya es tradición nuestra , ya sea para merendar o en la mañana siempre está hay tu café con leche❣️.
Aquí donde me encuentro ahora viviendo ( Colombia - antioquia) acostumbran a tomar la leche con panela tibia, dicen que es medicinal, la verdad es rica no lo puedo negar, dónde llegues en la mañana te dan tu agua de panela con leche, para acompañar un rico buñuelo de queso.
Es bueno tener el privilegio de comparar dos culturas diferentes pero excelentes! porque en ambas la leche forma parte de un día día, algo fundamental tanto por ser rica en minerales y por ser muy saludable consumirla.

Quisiera invitar a @verdesmeralda y @helimar a compartir con nosotros su experiencia de como prefieren la leche , saludos Dios los bendiga 🙏👍.

Es muy bonito ver cómo puedes valorar, apreciar las dos culturas, que te han tocado experimentar, que aún cuando se parezcan entre sí, cada una tiene sus propias singularidades.

Al igual que tú, creo que la cultura del café con leche y el pan dulce o bizcocho es algo muy venezolano, que nunca se pierde aún cuando uno se vaya muy lejos de la patria (lo digo por mi familia, que han migrado todos).

I love milk a lot just like black tea. But with different preferences. I prefer to drink my milk warm and delicious but always with some drops of lemon 🍋. I always add lemon to my milk especially when I notice any slight feeling of soar throat. This indeed works magic.

And drinking milk with less calories is the best for us adults as it helps us cut down on weight, and if we love to drink milk a lot.

And do you know that drinking warm milk 🥛 last thing at night helps us with good digestive system especially if we want to wake up the next day felling light?

This is the first time I've seen someone like drinking milk with lemon! It's surprising, because I think milk curdles when you add an acid, like lemon, but it's respectable that you like it that way.

And certainly, as we get older, we have to control our milk consumption because it can add extra calories to our daily diet. Too much of anything is harmful.

I can truly relate with your point here dear @sirenahippie . Drops of lemon 🍋 in a warm milk does not curdle the milk since its just few drops for flavor and I love ❤️ it as it helps for cold 🥶

However, I most times drink non dairy milk 🥛 that is made mostly with soy vegetables and even oats. These are healthy kinds of milk for better health especially as we get older.

It’s important we note how milk adds lots of calories to our body for those who drinks more of creamy milk.

I definitely like milk with coffee or chocolate aroma. I love coffee with milk with just the right balance where the coffee does not overpower the flavor of the milk and the creaminess it brings to the coffee.

I rarely drink milk in any other way, very occasionally when I feel like eating cereal with milk.

Nothing like accompanying your favorite breakfast with a well prepared latte.

Esta es mi participación al mini concurso ¿Cómo prefiero beber mi leche🥛?

Realmente no tomo leche sola, siempre me ha gustado tomarla acompañada de cualquier otro ingrediente; puedo agregarle galletas en trozos, café, cereal, incluso alguna fruta. Ciertamente este alimento es sumamente necesario para nuestro cuerpo, ya que su aporte de vitaminas y minerales es increíble, especialmente porque es necesaria para fortalecer nuestros huesos y dentadura por el aporte de calcio.

En la mañana, es lógico mi leche en el café y si es descremada o sin lactosa mucho mejor. También concuerdo con otras personas, cuando dicen que la toman caliente por las noches, en mi caso me calma y me regala.

Tal como dices, la leche es muy versátil, y lo bueno es que puede combinarse con muchas cosas. La mezcla de leche con galletas o con cereal es muy sabrosa, y resulta una merienda sencilla, rápida y práctica que nos puede sacar de apuros, incluso, un cereal con leche, frutas y granola, es un desayuno que aporta mucha energía y fibra para iniciar el día. Y claro, un café con leche al desayunar es todo un clásico que no puede faltar.

There are more than 1 way i love to take my milk, but above all of them, I love enjoying my milk hot with some rich chocolate.

I love the creamy taste of hot chocolate and milk in a glass. I love taking this combo especially in the morning and it helps me to start my day witha calm and sound mind.

I love cold milk, I can drink it alone or with banana and cinnamon, but especially as my mother used to give it to me for breakfast, hot milk with arepa, a pinch of salt and butter, my favorite recipe.

Me encanta la leche fría, la puedo tomar sola o con cambur y canela, pero sobre todo como me la daba mi madre para desayunar, leche caliente con arepa, una pizca de sal y mantequilla, mi receta favorita.

Esta es mi participación en el mini concurso :

Creo que la leche es el principal alimento, de hecho es el primero que consumimos al nacer; yo recuerdo de niña cuando en Venezuela era económica y se conseguían las latas de leche, hoy en día prácticamente no se ven casi todas vienen en bolsa; mis padres compraban las latas de leche y mis hermanas y yo las comíamos en polvo con azúcar Jajaja; por supuesto a escondida de nuestros padres.

Ideal para preparar batidos, puedo recordar un batido de lechosa, cambur y, por supuesto no puede faltar en la preparación de una rica avena fría o caliente; y cómo olvidar el toddy frío o caliente.

Hoy en día todavía cuando compro leche en polvo siempre trato de dejar una o dos cucharaditas para recordar esos momentos de infancia; la coloco en una taza, la mezclo con azúcar y me la como escondida de mis hijos para que no me pidan ,Jajaja.

Otro recuerdo maravilloso que tengo de niña era que mi mamá batida leche en polvo caliente y allí desmenuzaba una arepa asada,qué combinación tan espectacular !definitivamente al leer la publicación me trasladé a mi infancia recordando la leche con arepa desmenuzada🥹

Hoy en día en casa nunca falta un litro de leche líquida, por acá es zonas ganadera y se consigue a buen precio; para añadirla al café ☕ y me gusta también después de hervirla refrigerarla y tomarla sola, fría, sin azúcar Jajajaja

El Toddy es una bebida achocolatada, con un sabor único, que es muy venezolana. Creo que a todos los niños venezolanos nos criaron tomando Toddy.

Es algo similar. Es un polvo de cacao, saborizado con otras especies, y con azúcar añadida, que es delicioso. Se puede preparar frío o caliente.

Quizás algún día pruebe ese cacao, lo que sí te digo es que la cuna del cacao es el Amazonas y el mejor cacao del mundo es el porcelana, que crece en la zona Sur del Lago de Maracaibo. Por algo, en las fábricas a nivel mundial, cuando usan un cacao de inferior calidad, para poder optimizarlo, añaden sólo un 5% de cacao venezolano, y con eso se eleva el nivel hasta las estrellas.

Es cierto lo que dices, antes era muy común ver latas de leche en polvo de 2, 1 o 0.5 kilos. Ahora fueron sustituidas por las bolsas. Y creo que lo de la leche en polvo ligada con azúcar, es una golosina que muchos disfrutamos de niños. Mi esposo en particular abría un pan francés y lo rellenaba con leche en polvo y azúcar, (aún lo hace, jajajajaja).

Lo de la arepa desmenuzada en leche caliente es una comida que a mi mamá le encanta, me hiciste recordarla.

Y lo de la leche de ordeño es algo que puedes disfrutar (yo también disfruto de esa opción).

Since I was a little girl, I loved dairy products and milk on top of them. I remember when I was little, I used to take my milk pure, no coffee, no chocolate, just a teaspoon or two of sugar, but nothing more. One morning, my dad was having his coffee, and he looked at me and said, "Do you want some?" I replied, "No" I used to find coffee disgusting. However, I tried it, and it was heaven my friends, I loved coffee since then. I never had my milk like I used to ever since; it has to have some coffee. Now I'm an adult, and I still love drinking milk every time I can. I love my milk with a lot of coffee and sweet, and a muffin to make the perfect combination, or any other sweet similar. Another interesting thing is that I prefer goat milk over cow milk; I find it more flavorful. Nothing like a good cup of milk with coffee to start the day.

My youngest son likes to put a little sugar in his milk, I don't understand that, but, he likes it I see you do too, hahahaha.

The little bit of coffee they put in the milk, gives it a spectacular touch, it is not coffee with milk, no sir it is just a splash of coffee, but it takes the milk to another level! I have tried it when I go to the farm of some friends, they milk it and add that special touch of coffee 😁.

To be honest, when I saw the title of this publication, it automatically reminded me of my childhood, when I used to drink milk with vanilla. Grandma's recipe, and boy, has it always been my favorite. For some this will be strange but I love that flavor. When I prepare it at home, I never miss those little drops of vanilla, and if I'm at a family or friend's house I ask if they have some to add to my glass. Sometimes I invent a little more and add a bit of cinnamon, but in most cases vanilla is enough to delight me as if I were a child 😋🤤

Siendo sincero, cuando vi el título de esta publicación me recordó automáticamente a mi infancia, cuando solía tomar leche con vainilla. La receta de la abuela, y vaya que siempre ha sido mi favorita. Para algunos será extraño, pero a mí me encanta ese sabor. Cuando la preparo en casa nunca me faltan esas gotitas de vainilla, y si estoy en casa de algún familiar o amigo pregunto si tienen para añadir a mi vaso. A veces invento un poco más y le añado un poco de canela, pero en la mayoría de los casos la vainilla es suficiente para deleitarme como si fuera una niño 😋🤤

Me contenta mucho que gracias a esta publicación, hayas viajado en el tiempo, a tu infancia. La leche con vainilla es deliciosa, es algo que yo descubrí de grande, y aún la disfruto mucho, y le extendí esta costumbre a mi esposo. Añadir canela también es válido, aunque en ese caso es más conveniente infusionarla, en la leche caliente.

Hello gente, está es mi participación en el mini concurso invitando a @leidimarc

Me gusta consumir la leche combinada con la mejor bebida el café, aunque sola también si es descremada mejor, y bueno también me gusta las merengadas con frutas. Uno de mis día a día es que consumo mucho yogurt, me encanta, dije que iba a prender hacer en casa. Una anécdota con la leche de vaca, es que hace 10 años visite una finca donde aameneci y bueno la señora de la casa había traído la leche que recién ordenó de su vaca, enseguida estruje la cara, dije prefiero mi café solo... Pero bueno siempre insisten así que la señora calentó la leche de vaca y agrego al café y me lo dió, la verdad que quedé fascinada. Jeje

Milk, such an essential and versatile food that I consume it in drinks, food and desserts, but I can't miss it, at bedtime, it has been a habit for me to drink it warm. Since I grew up, it was the tradition of my grandmothers to make sure that we did not go to bed without a glass of milk. Milk is one of those drinks that I used to drink with my coffee every day in the morning. When Mom got up, the first thing she did was to prepare a cup of Café con Leche, she was the first one to pour her cup, but she always made sure that there was enough for everyone.
To this day, one of my favorite ways to drink milk is mixed with coffee and if I can add a little Cocoa Powder, all the better.

Unfortunately I have had to reduce the consumption of cow's milk some time ago I became allergic to dairy products especially milk, because of this I learned to look for other alternatives that are very healthy, such as making my own vegetable milks, almond milk is my favorite, with it I prepare my vegan desserts, I make coffee with milk, hot or cold oatmeal atol, the truth is I use it almost the same as I would use cow's milk.

Although I love vegetable milks, my weakness is still cow's milk and from time to time I prepare some smoothies like for example the Banana, I love that one, I also like hot milk, drink it at night with a little honey, and I usually use it in some of my desserts, but I always use it with caution.

I really like milk, it is part of my everyday 🤪. I prefer it of dairy origin, for its multiple benefits, the main of them: the strengthening of bones and teeth. This way we will resist more if we fall, we don't want to fracture 😂.

The temperature will depend on the day, the time and my mood, hot I usually enjoy it in the morning and cold in the afternoon 😋. As I love chocolate, sometimes, I add Toddy or similar drinks to it. Although I can't deny that with coffee it's also delicious.

Dipping an oreo in milk is a dream come true ☺, a feeling of well-being that I saw very well reflected in that TV commercial. So I can taste it as a rich snack, accompanied by little Alma, she says: "Cheche" and points to her mouth to get some 😂️
