9/26/25 - Ashlee’s Nineties Friday 1995 Album Spotlight! “Tragic Kingdom” from No Doubt!

It’s 4 tune friday on #NinetiesFriday!
This week I’m taking a page from @geneeverett & picking tunes from one artist. Let’s go further and do one whole record! No Doubts classic album Tragic Kingdom! 🍊

All tunes from 👇
Artist - No Doubt
Album - Tragic Kingdom
Released - 1995
First up it’s the song “Just A Girl”
The first single & radio/MTV success song for the band!
Second tune! The second single & even bigger play! No Doubt - Spiderwebs
Third up! The song Don’t Speak which was pop crossover huge song in 1996!
No Doubt - Don’t Speak
Fourth tune! It’s the song Sunday Morning
Which was a single but lesser known as the “big 3” above.
Let’s keep going! Two more as Bonus tunes!
First bonus is the lesser known song “Excuse Me Mr.” Which also had a music video made for it and was the fifth radio single released. Gene goes on about how they should have recorded a follow up album sooner. He seems to be right given this 1995 release was the last nineties full length album they released.
Second & last Bonus is the single from No Doubts first album 1992’s “No Doubt” the song “Trapped In A Box”. No Doubts 1992 debut was on the same big major label as 1995’s Tragic Kingdom” (Interscope) but was early and got literally no mainstream play. That said it’s a catchy album that is just lesser known. Enjoy the tune!
