Going psycho in Ibarra. My Actifit Report Card: March 4 2026

in Actifit3 days ago

Early bird catches the... Psychologist? Not really. Due to all the changes in our lives, Lily's teacher recommended a psychological evaluation due to some symptoms that Lily was showing. So, instead of being at school at 8am, we went to the next big town, Ibarra. 8am was the appointment. When we arrived at 8am, the center was still closed, but the first person arrived around 5min after. No surprised here. The therapist arrived at around 8.30am. And no. That's not unprofessional here. Just normal. But I still prefer to be on time (hence 30min early in Ecuadorian Standard Time), just in case. Leading by example...

Lily wasn't very motivated, so it took a little longer for her to jump through all the hoops. It was worth it though. It's good to no that I (and the teacher) weren't over reacting, but there are some real signs of emotional stress that have to be dealt with. The psychologist and I will talk about that another day, I just got a very brief summary.

Then it was time for my brother to spoil Lily "a little". We went for breakfast, and she dug deep into an apple crêpe. There were some beautiful flowers around there, too, and she had me take pictures of all of them. It's a very nicely designed Little bistro café with high quality coffee and food.

The owners were friends of mine a long time ago. I supplied them with a few products for retail sales as well. But they grew a little too big, and weren't able to explain the product to the customers anymore, so I rather withdrew.

We then went on to one of the shopping centers here. I got all the cleaning stuff that my brother needs for his apartment, and then we looked at some prices for sinks and stove tops and such, while Lily was enjoying herself in the supervised play area.

She will go on a birthday party on Sunday which includes carnival - Ecuadorian style. Means, a lot of water. So, besides a gift for her friend, I got her a water gun. I usually don't buy those kind of things at all, but we'll see how she manages it.

On the way back, we stopped at the jeans outlett and I got 4 shirts for myself and 2 jeans for Lily. That should last for a while. Until she grows again...

I took this picture because it's super rare that I only die 1500 steps by 2pm. It's usually around 6k by then. But sitting in the waiting room conversing with my brother does not add steps...

Anyway, I made it in the end. Have a good night!
