A day of running around! The morning was mellow and nice, fresh air, blazing sun, as so many days start recently. Lily had spend the night with me, keeping me awake quite a bit, kicking, stealing the blankets, and just generally moving around like kids do. All good. She has my permission. It’s all good when I wake up to see her little face.

She wanted a lazy day, so did I, but after going to the market and getting enough veggie supply for the week, things changed. Ellie said they were going to Otavalo so her daughter could get a piercing, a gift from her aunt. Not more than an hour, she said, including a stop at the clothing factory to feed the cats there. Well…

There was no shop open. It took us 2h walking around Otavalo until they found one that was open, and then another 20min until the lady in charge arrived, then 10min until she got everything she needed, and then it was 10min more to get the piercing done. And then we went for ice cream in Peguche.

Lily did a great job on her piano practice today. She seems to be in a better space, able to focus more. I’m happy about that, and hope that keeping up therapy and such will further improve that. She’s getting interested in photography because she sees me looking for angles and lighting many times, and as she pulled out yet another tooth of hers, she wanted a digital camera from the tooth fairy. Yeah, too heavy and too expensive for the fairy. But maybe something else will come? And Ellie has an old digital camera that Lily can play with.

In the meantime, she used my phone. I might just make her an own hive account to share the pictures she takes. There’s something special too the randomness of the eye of a child on what’s worth taking a picture of, and then – how.

Gotta get to bed now. Some Duolingo and I’m done for today. It’s been another good day. I enjoy them while they last.
