I been messing around with this local AI stuff lately and honestly it is moving so fast I can barely keep my own servers up to speed with the updates like just this week I was diving into local video gen and the jump in quality is actually insane compared to where we were even a month ago.

I got Wan 2.2 running and managed to cut the render times down from like 30 minutes to maybe 3 minutes total which is wild when you think about it because I am using fp8 quantization and that AoT compilation trick to skip the overhead and just let the GPU eat. Did some testing with those all in one loras too and doing it in 4 to 8 steps is giving me better results than the old long renders used to look like anyway which just goes to show you that the paid tools like Sora or whatever are gonna have a hard time competing with a guy in his basement with a decent rig and some open source code eh.
Then I jumped over to music gen because I heard about this Ace 1.5 model and man it might actually be the one that sticks because the audio fidelity is clean as hell and it does not sound like that weird underwater robotic mess we usually get with the free stuff.
if you take the time to actually do the setup right and stop being lazy with the one click installers you can basically build a full production studio on your own hardware without paying some monthly subscription fee .
Still a bit of a grind to get the dependencies playing nice with Python but once it clicks it is basically magic and I am bullish on anything that keeps the power in our hands instead of some cloud server that can be shut off whenever the company decides they want more of your money. Honestly looking at where this is going I might just stop using the web tools entirely because why bother with the censorship and the lag when I got the heat right here next to my desk making the room warm while it renders out some wild stuff for the next project
it ain't perfect yet and you still get teh occasional glitch or weird artifact but the progress is real and I am just gonna keep stacking these models on my drives until I have a full suite of tools that don't owe nobody a dime for the privilege of existing
