Welcome to @bitcoinman's table silver series, in this series I selects some silver weekly to be displayed, admired and studied to better my precious metal verification skills.
'
Last week I shared the 1/2 this time it is the 1/4 and to be honest it is fairly hard to hear smaller bit with the pinger, something better is needed but I have yet to develop it, I have ideas but ideas and shit, gotta make em happen and also sometimes it's just a dead end, comes with the territory.
And now some obvious filler so the hive feds don't roll up on me
Alright let's talk about fractional silver for a minute.
I see these posts with little 1/10th ounce or even tiny gram pieces of silver and people get all excited... and look, I get it. They're neat. They're like little shiny trinkets and some of them have cool designs. If you're a collector and you just want a bunch of different things to look at, fill your boots. But if you call yourself a stacker... ya ain't stacking smart with that stuff.
The premium on fractional is just insane. You're paying sometimes double or triple the spot price per gram compared to just buying a regular one ounce coin or a bar. It's simple math folks. The goal of stacking should be to accumulate as much weight as possible for the fiat you're spending. Every time you buy a tiny little piece of silver you're basically just lighting a chunk of your money on fire for the dealer. It's a sucker's game if your goal is wealth preservation.
Now... there is a place for it I guess. For the community here, for my #silvergoldstackers people... it makes sense from a content perspective. You need something new to post every week, eh? A big 10oz bar is cool but you can only show it off so many times. A handful of different fractional pieces gives you something to talk about, something to photograph. It keeps the engagement up and keeps the community active, and that has its own value for sure. It's also probably good for tipping or for a super small barter situation in a SHTF world that will likely never happen.
So for ya boy... it's a pass for the main stack. But for collecting and for making cool posts on the chain, I can see the appeal. Just don't fool yourself into thinking you're getting a good deal on the metal itself. You're paying for novelty, not weight. Know the differnce.
I got enough words but almost forgot the pictures 🤣 maybe I need to make a hive onlyfans, need to find a way to capitalize on these watchers 🤣
