Recovery Mode, Poor Decisions Enabled

in Actifityesterday

Normally Tuesdays mean office chairs, stacked meetings, and a step count that barely qualifies as movement. I skipped the office for recovery, which apparently just freed up space for more chaos. Work went from busy to aggressively busy, family stuff joined the party, and job interviews dropped in as a reminder that my current project is ending and timing is a sense of humor, not a concept.

By the time work finally wrapped up, an hour late of course, I forced myself outside. Not heroically, just stubbornly. The canal was calm, bare trees lined up like witnesses, and the sky looked way too composed for the day I’d had. Winter light doing its soft-focus magic, reflections acting like everything was fine.

I said “quick walk” and immediately committed to 3.5 km in one go. Bold choice for someone in recovery. Now I’m home, sweating it out, leg filing formal complaints, extra pain included.

Still worth it. The photos prove the walk happened, even if my body disagrees with the decision-making process.
