One year today.

in #aliveandthriving2 days ago

On January, 1/2025, I met the most beautiful, wonderful, loving, out spoken, witty, supportive woman.
Her name is Marion Anderson.
@bradleyarrow's Mom, my Mother in Law!

Bradley and I were invited to a family potluck at his sister's house.
It was only suppose to be Bradley, myself, his sister - husband, daughter - boyfriend & his daughter and his parents.
When we pulled up to their house, his 2 brothers/wives were there.
I thought that was bad enough, when we went inside his Mom was sitting there, waiting for us.
I asked Bradley if we could go home, LOL.
I was nervous!

Apparently it was too late to leave.
We went inside, Bradley introduced me to everyone.
My stomach was churning! LOL

Yup, I was nervous, yes me!
Everyone was nice, checking out Bradley's new girlfriend.
Bradley was getting a good kick out of it!
And there was his Mom, watching me like a hawk.
I swear, she didn't take her eyes of me!

It was time to eat.
I sneaked off to the washroom.
As I was coming out in the hallway, I heard MUDDER {that's what I had to call her},telling everyone that she wanted me to sit by her at the table!
Oh boy!

She talked away to me, asking me little tidbits about myself.
Then she started with the jokes, and she sure could tell them.
I laughed so hard, I thought I was going to pee my pants.
It was a lovely evening!

I only knew her for roughly 4 1/2 months.
That was long enough for us to really get to know each other.
I finally knew what it was like to truly feel a Mother's love!
I was craving that all of my life.

We all got together for family meals often.
Bradley and I visited her at the Seniors Home, where she lived.
One day I wasn't working so I braved a one on one visit with her.
It was the most wonderful day ever!
We talked, cried, hugged, got to really know each other, and before I left she told me she LOVED ME!
That was a heart felt moment!

I truly loved her as a MUDDER!
The stories I heard from Bradley and his siblings were awesome!
What a great childhood they had!
It was something like the Walton's, the tv show.
I was almost jealous, but how could I be?
I was becoming apart of their family!

Well now, let me brief about the day we went to visit her and she was kindda waiting for us!
I told her that can't be good, her waiting for us to visit.
She chatted with us for a bit, then she became serious.
She pipes up and tells us she heard something about us.
We knew what she was talking about, LOL

Bradley's sister told her we had gotten engaged and were getting married in July.
I was ready to faint.
She voiced her concerns, she thought it was kind of quick, we were rushing.
Then she said if that's what we want, she was happy for us.
She asked to see the ring💍
Of course she teased me about it, she asked if he got it out of a cracker jack box! LOL

WE left that night feeling over joyed, we had her blessing.

She and I were planning to go dress shopping for her, she had to look pretty for her boyfriend, Sam!
She invited him to go with her!
I kept her informed with the wedding plans.
I showed her my wedding dress, the things I bought for decorating.
She was happy.

Then one day we got a call that we weren't expecting or wanted to hear.
She had gotten admitted to the hospital😥
We all stayed with her as much as we could, after work, till late in the night.
Bradley and I slept at the hospital in her room, and then she went to the Palliative Care unit, we stayed there with her on the last night on this earth.

Bradley and I had to go to a book reading he had to promote his book.
I was getting dressed and he was in the shower when we got the dreaded call.
She had taken a turn for the worse, we had to get there ASAP.
I went into the bathroom, told Bradley, by the time I got back to our bedroom, like 2 seconds, my phone rang again, she was gone.
I had to go tell Bradley, it was the hardest thing I had to do.

We rushed out the door to go be with the family, he canceled his book reading.
When we got there everyone was there.
We said our goodbyes, gave her a kiss and waited for the funeral home to come and take her body.
Her soul was already gone to Heaven🙏

It was a hard day.
We made sure to remember her at our wedding, we know she was smiling down on us!

Today marks 1 year since her passing!
We had a tearful day.
Please say a prayer for Bradley, he had a hard day.
He was the baby of the family, a Momma's boy!

Rest in Peace Mudder, you are gone but not forgotten🙏

A few pictures of her, I miss her so much.
