My mom has really been there for me over the year, I seriously do not say this enough, my mom is always someone I can count on, she is always helping me out no matter what is going on in my life or how tough things seem.
And there have been a lot of days when I would go to my mom and say, Mom I want to tell you about my day.. She would stop doing whatever she was doing and really listen to me. I mean really listen, not pretend to listen while she is doing something else, my mom is really great, at listening to me , I do appreciate that about her, she is someone who always makes time for me, and it means a lot to me.
When I talk about listening I mean the kind that makes you feel like someone really gets you, this is what I get from her, anytime I told her what was going on with me she had something to say, sometimes her advice was really simple, It helped,sometimes she would pray for me.. sometimes she just tell me that everything would be alright..
And no matter what she always made me feel like I was not alone, She had a way of making me feel seen and understood. The thing that always stayed the same was that I never felt alone when I was talking to her, she e was always there for me, with her words of encouragement and i really appreciated that about her.
I am a man, Yes I know that fully well, but then my mom is the one person I can always talk to about anything that bothers me, My mom is an important person, in my life and I feel lucky to have her.
This past year wasn’t easy for me. I had times when I felt really tired and overwhelmed, there were days when I was not sure about the things I was doing, i even wondered if I was doing enough with my life.. my mom was always there, for me. On days when I did not feel like doing anything my mom would encouraged me, what my mom said did not make all my problems go away.. It gave me the strength to keep going, my mom's words helped me a lot.
A mother is a special person because she loves in ways no one else can love , she sees your flaws and still believes in your potential, she sacrifices quietly, without keeping any kind of score, she stands with you when you are winning and also when you are failing, she then becomes your safe place in a world that can be very hard sometimes.
My mom is all of that and more to me, I am grateful for her presence in my life and I don’t take her love, support, and sacrifices for granted.
She is my special person, always.
