I love days like this. Calm, mild and cool. Perfect for sports like running or cycling.
We are in that sweet spot between weather systems where it can be very calm and mild in autumn.
A couple of canada geese seem lost. Maybe they missed the usual migration this year 🤣. Oops!
The carpet of leaves is amazing this year, and the colour off the scale. It must be due to the amount of unbroken sunshine we had in the summer.
There is one downside to cycling through this litter!
It clogs up the workings on my bike! 😅
This is a minor problem, and I was on my way very quickly after picking up a handy twig and clearing the blockage.
A little further along I was stunned by a sight under the tree cover. The colour of this tree is amazing. It seemed to glow in the dim light of the woodland.
Note the huge carpet of leaves here, blown into a deep pile by the wind in this part of Tilgate Park.
There were few people about here when I cycled through as it is a school day. I realised this on my return home as I encountered a hoard of children coming out of school, making it difficult to negotiate the road crossings.
