Spring walk around Ifield Mill Pond : My Actifit Report Card: March 14 2026

I planned to go for a mountain bike ride today but due to a problem with a shed lock I couldn't get my bike out! 🤣.
Never mind, the other option is to walk. So off to Ifield Mill Pond which was a good choice in the circumstances.

It was beautiful. The perfect light conditions for good photos. Some clouds which provided excellent reflection on the lake surface.

Todays temperatures started off quite chilly, just above freezing but recovered to about 14 degrees in the afternoon when we walked here. I did not spot any young birds yet, a bit too early in the season but there were a lot of gueese about.

In spring the sun is strong and I could feel the warmth, however the sun still sets early and it began to get chilly again before we left. It is that delicate balance of sunshine and daylight hours this time of year that really matters, but it is going in the right direction 😁.
