Hello My Fellow Hivians
Welcome to my last #saturdaysavers post, yes this is the last one. Saturday Savers Club project has officially ended this month, so we will not have the 2026 edition of the Saturday Savers Club activities anymore.
Everything has the beginning, and it has the end or finish line too. So this Alpha-Omega thing is something that bounds to happen. It is a matter of time.
I came to Hive from Indonesia Splinterlands Community, then the second community I joined was Rising Star Game Community. Saturday Savers as part of SPI projects, was actually my third community.
In 2023 I bumped onto Saturday Savers Club, and that time I was attracted with the people habit, especially in saving. That time @hoosie and @shanibeer were still very active. Thank you for being a great host all these years guys.
I felt like I was being normal there. In Indonesia Community, most people thought I was a weirdo and dumb head for saying we should keep our HP up. Our role model were people who was extraordinary high performers which was measured by how much they could withdraw on regular based.
Oh ya if you think I am exaggerating, let me show you some fact. The best Indonesian users, or authors, or Indonesian people in big Hive projects, have 20+ KE as their lowest KE. One of those high performers even had 61+ KE in the past. Another example, at Hive Fest in Kuala Lumpur this year, we had some Indonesian users there and if you make an average KE between them, the average KE would be 10+. The highest was 21+ and The lowest was 2.4+
Well KE is not the only indicator here and it doesn't describe someone as bad or good. However in my case, it proves my argument in the past that most Indonesian users were wrongly directed and guided, by having themselves trying to fish OCD and Curangel by bending their knees, bowing themselves at their best to be the curators' buddies.
So when I got into SPI, seeing others cultivated their HP, I felt like I was at home. And none said I was crazy not to bow myself to big whales.
I am going back writing Rising Star Game regularly in weekly based, replacing the Saturday Savers club post I used to write in weekend.
We used to have many authors there, and all of us, as gamers, of course seek for fun. It is weird to see that some of us are bashed due to some "standards".
I am ok if people abuse RisingStar and get punished, I even support that action if I see it is needed. However getting punished because someone writes below "the book club" standard?. Hive supposes to be a social media platform based on Web 3 infrastructure, not some book club exclusive media.
That's all I want to say this time. Thanks for all theses years we have together in this great Saturday Club Savers.
THE SAVINGS RECAP
I have two saving goals this year, one is HBD as my main, and second one is HP as my secondary.
HIVE BACKED DOLLAR (HBD)
I started this year saving goal by setting HBD as my main saving goal. The idea came after several consideration in seeing HBD as a saving, not as an investment. I used to use HP for my saving goal, but HP was more like a long term investment.
A saving is more like a temporary or short to mid term holding. For this reason, HBD is a better option.
However this year was a bad one for me in term of financial issue. I lost my late father, my company made a big lose because a client refused to pay, my team got some nasty accidents and many more. Bottom line I lost a lot of money and I could not get new money in and that struck my HBD saving too.
Even until today, I am still struggling in providing some food on the table for my family. However I haven't given up yet, I believe 2026 should be better despite the regional economy is definitely going worse.
HIVE POWER (HP)
This should be my main goal, however I set it as secondary goal to make room for HBD saving goal. As predicted, I passed the goal twice.
As I have predicted before, my goal was 13.500 HP for this year, and I ended up getting 15.500 HP. It was 2.000 HP more than my target. I believed I did not set the target too low, all of this was due to Hive Price.
You can see the table above, in the first quarter 2025 I could only get around 50 HP per week. Times that number with 52 weeks, it will end up with 2.600 HP.
I achieved my target here which was the most important thing in this club activity.
The Orca Saga
Orca is the word that hinted my goal for 2026. Yes I want to get into Orca size next year. 65.000 HP, that number was a big one in the past, however it was not big anymore based on the current Hive price, below $ 0.1 / HIVE.
I remember in past I paid $20-30 for some month just to participate in Hive Power Up Day. How much did I get? only between 100-200 Hive and only to power up that amount in the past.
In the past when I started hive blogging, 10 Hive was about 6-8 USD. You needed to spend let say $10 a month just to do the bare minimum power up. How many Hive do we get now for that money? 100 Hive. So if I keep that custom, I would get extra 100 HP every 1st of the month.
Or we can say having 1.000 HP is achievable only by buying someone else a cup of coffee.
So I guess being a dolphin on Hive should not be something notable anymore. For a person who has been 4 years on Hive, It's about time I go challenge myself up to achieve Orca Size.
Even if I failed, I would achieved 30.000-40.000 HP and that should be ok for some communities. Not all communities have an orca.
