Hello there. As usual I am sharing one of my splinterlands battle today, something that I regularly do regarding I am playing Splinterlands everyday. The battle today I am sharing to you all is about an old legendary card, I think this is a double legendary thing...
The first one that this is a legendary rarity unit, which of course it was hard to get this one due to that rarity. The second one that this card was a legendary one, almost everyone needed to have this card if they wanted to be competitive. Many even used this card to spam-bully noobs lol.

I am talking about Djinn Oshannus, this one was a true legend back then. It was so powerful that a streamer, AFTERSOUNDS spend hunders of dollars to get massive copies of this card and used it as one of his contents. I will try to be prudent here, I do not tag him here because its the same as rubbing some salt on his wound, the card is so cheap right now lol
If we compare Djinn Oshannus with other legendary cards from newer edition, Djinn Oshannus definitely will get overshadowed. Current Legendary units have many abilities, a more frightening numbers in their stats, and some even could not be beaten without specific ability.
What made Djinn Oshannus so strong back then was the demand or the need of his existence to support some meta. This card was so simple, it moved fast, it withstood magic attacks, and it had high health point.
As being said that, it showed how powerful was magic attacks in the past. We did not have many anti magic tank, if we had, they were vulnerable against melee and range... except this Djin Oshannus due to his speed.
So if this card was so powerful during the old days, would it mean it is useless nowadays? I can say yes and no. I lean to no because actually, less people are anticipating having this card as their opponent.
So let see the battle then!
The Battle
So this was a modern rank battle of Gold league tier 1. At that time I almost got through into the Diamond League, so this was one of the decisive battle too. So how could Djinn Oshannus got into this battle?

Well we had outsider modifier, this one was recently introduced this season, if I recalled it correctly. Outsider modifier allowed you to summon one unit from wild format.
If you think one wild unit is not something that decisive, well you will need to check other people battle too. Yes based on the power or strength of your team, it will not be a big change or boost up anyway. However that one wild unit could give your opponent a shock, because you could enter the battle with something they never have thought before, a meta that should not exist in modern.
In this battle, that Djinn Oshannus existence ruined all of their plan. Let see how this one made their tactic crumbled

When the battle started, you could see Djinn Oshannus had 3 magic damage, 12 health point and a void ability. Basically he would nulled all 1 magic damage attacks. Then his 12 health point made his able to recover 4 health point from a tank heal given by Anasth Soothsayer.
So lets the big picture here, my opponent could only deliver 2 melee damage from Halaran Huntress, 2 range damage from Quillun Legionary and 1 magic damage from Blackmoor Wild Elf. That's a 5 damage per round, and my Djinn Oshannus had a guarantee of 4 health point recovery every round. So they could only wound 1 health point per round, and if Djinn Oshannus dodged one of the attacks, he would get back to his max health point...
This was I called as game over from the start

The result was clear, until the end of the battle, my Djinn Oshannus still had max health. He did get wounded but he got recovered back to his prime. This was why people from the past were in awe of him.
Well, I will be frank here, this is not something that at jaw dropping level. However we could not deny that Djinn Oshannus is still a powerful card that we can not ever forget about it. Djinn Oshannus could come back with that modifier and screw up all opponents' tactic. I do not think that is something that exaggerated, who knows maybe the next battle you would find him as your opponents. Anyway thank you for visiting my post today, have fun in the Splinterlands battles!
