Tooth fairy? I don’t think so!

I had to go to the oral surgeon today. The tooth that they did a root canal on back in 2023, failed leaving me with a jawbone infection.

After lots of numbing medication and laughing gas, an hour later and I was done-for now. I go back in 3 months to see if they were successful in saving the tooth. It’s possible ( and I got the feeling probable) that I could lose the tooth. 🦷

I’m hoping for a positive outcome. They also told me that pain would slowly increase over the next 4 days topping out on Saturday because of all the stuff they did. Based on the pain I’ve had thus far, I’d say I’m in for a bit of a ride. 😏

Once home, I asked for a coffee date as I’d had zero coffee or food today. I wasn’t much in the mood for food, but the coffee tasted ever so good! We then headed to Sportsman’s Warehouse looking for hiking shoes for @silvertop as well as a new pair for me. We scored 2 sets for him and one for me. We were both happy with our purchases.

Then we headed for home. The rain is still coming down with no relief in sight. As of right now, we’ve gotten 1.76” of rain in the past 36 hours. The river is definitely swollen as are the tributaries we’ve crossed over today. Here’s a shot of the NOAA river level from yesterday.

We’ve had a little pull back but that’s due to some small lulls between rainstorms. Rain is forecast through Saturday at 100% so we will wait and see what the fallout is. Fingers crossed 🤞 we don’t make flood stage!

Few things are more annoying and nagging like a toothache 😬 I have a remedy for you, though, if you experience pain after dental work. Get a plain, black tea bag — not camomile, peppermint, or another type, just plain black tea. Remove the string & tag, then place it in your mouth where the pain is concentrated and leave it there for a bit. It sounds crazy, but it will help! Keep it in there as long as you feel it necessary, and repeat as needed!

I had a tooth extracted ("cut out"/pulled) a few years ago. My dentist said the tooth might be saved with a root canal, but it was so far gone there were no guarantees. And since it was the backmost molar on that side, I opted for the extraction, instead. The pain that hit me a couple hours after leaving his office was almost unbearable and I was nearly in tears from it. The oxycodone the dentist gave me did nothing whatsoever to even take the edge off the pain. Then someone told me about the tea bag trick, and I will be forever grateful for that advice!

My dentist has finally got onboard with the science that root canals are all doomed, even if done correctly they leave dead tissue and are a magnet for infection. It’s highly shunned and called conspiracy nonsense by the mainstream but the recent science backs up that root canals are largely just bad. I’ve had a bunch myself, like 6 or so. I’m going for a car scan (3D cone scan) myself to see if there’s any infection in my bone or at any root canal teeth. I’m expecting to find that there is. Definitely worth going down the holistic look at this and how root canal’s are all doomed. I’m going to be getting implants over the next year or two, replacing all my root banks teeth and removing the dead tissue. it’s finally coming to light how these dead teeth left in place with root canal’s even done perfectly , leads to infections and bone issues over long term.

Interesting! The 3D scan is what they did. I have one other root canal done 26 years ago, and although the crown is cracked, there is no infection with that one. My regular dentist wanted the scan that was done, to include that one as he was concerned about it.
