No, it is a Western Red Cedar tree. You could probably consider it and 'Old Growth' tree, given it's age. All of the ones similar to this in age are of the same variety. It's pretty amazing when you stop to think about it. When we moved here in 2000, the tree had a circumference of of 17 feet, one inch. I haven't measured lately, but it's definitely a lot bigger than when we first got here. To date, that tree would be 534 years old! Crazy!
