My dear friends, as part of the exercise of clearing out my closet to make room for new items, I took the first step of getting rid of clothes I don't wear, the ones that have been waiting for “that moment” for more than 10 years, or worse, “when I lose the extra pounds.” In other words, the eternal promise to keep that shirt and those pants for many years, only to end up moving them from space to space.
The exercise was easy, but when you get rid of some clothes, you have to replace them. Taking advantage of the fact that I have an important trip in December, I asked my personal fashion advisor of more than 20 years to accompany me to buy WHAT I NEED FOR THAT JOURNEY.
First, we reviewed our day-to-day outfits, as well as all the places we will visit, to figure out what we had and what we needed. With this in mind, we left early for our mission WITHOUT DEVIATING FROM OUR INITIAL GOALS, because that often happens with so much diversity in stores.
Mis queridos amigos, haciendo el ejercicio de sacar para que entre lo nuevo en mi armario, hice el primer paso que fue ir saliendo de la ropa que no uso, la que tiene más de 10 años esperando "ese momento" o peor aún "cuando baje los kilos de más", es decir, la eterna promesa para guardar esa camisa y ese pantalón por muchos años que terminan rodando de espacio en espacio.
El ejercicio fue fácil, pero sacando algunas prendas, se debe reponer y aprovechando que tengo un viaje importante en diciembre, le dije a mi asesora de moda personal por más de 20 años, que me acompañara a comprar LO NECESARIO PARA IR A ESA TRAVESÍA.
Primero, hicimos una revisión de outfit día a día, además de todos los sitios que visitaremos, para sacar lo que teníamos y qué necesitábamos. Con esto en mente, salimos tempranito para nuestra misión SIN DESVIARNOS DE LOS PROPÓSITOS INICIALES, porque eso suele ocurrir con tanta diversidad que hay en las tiendas.
Our favorite store is TRAKI. There, I have always found my PERFECT clothes! Especially pants, which are always difficult for me to buy because of my unusual body shape—everything looks weird on me.
Nuestra tienda por preferencia es TRAKI. Allí, siempre he encontrado mi ropa ¡PERFECTA! Sobre todo en los pantalones, que siempre se me complica comprarlo por mi anatomía peculiar que todo me queda raro 🙃.
In recent days, there were rumors that our ally was closing down in the country. We wanted to check it out for ourselves, and what a surprise! It is super stocked and organized, just like in its heyday. The home, men's, and children's floors were packed, and the women's floor was lost in the space. We wanted everything, but we controlled ourselves and focused on browsing the women's section. We spent about two hours trying on many styles of pants that we found starting at $12. The most exciting thing is that they carry Cashea, and I was able to get it on credit.
En días anteriores, se rumoró que nuestra aliada estaba cerrando en el país. Lo quisimos comprobar por nosotras mismas y ¿Cuál fue la sorpresa? Que está supersurtida y arreglada como en sus buenos tiempos de bonanza. Estaban abarrotados los pisos de hogar, hombres, niños, y el de las mujeres, se perdía en el espacio. Nosotras queríamos todo, pero nos controlamos y nos dedicamos a hurgar en el espacio de mujeres. Nos tardamos como 2 horas, probándonos muchos modelos de pantalones que conseguimos desde $12 😲, Lo más emocionante es que cuenta con Cashea y pude sacarlo a crédito.
Then we went to another department store called El Castillo, which used to only sell fabrics, but now has diversified its range. I bought some white V-neck T-shirts (very hard to find) and a blanket that I am 100% in love with because it is so soft and doesn't give you goose bumps. Something we would call “ladies' things” 😊.
Después nos fuimos a otra multi tienda que se llama El castillo y "vendían" solo telas; ahora, se diversificó y compré unas franelas blancas, cuello en V (muy difíciles de conseguir) y una manta de la que estoy 100% enamorada por su suavidad y que no dan corriente. Algo que llamaríamos como "cosas de doñas" 😊.
With our hands full, we only needed one more place to go. Total, a well-known shoe store. We were looking for some brown flats that are currently in style. It wasn't difficult to find them or choose them, because we both agreed on the ones we saw. I tried them on and they fit perfectly.
Ya con las manos llenas, solo nos faltaba un lugar. También superconocido como es Total, encargada de vender zapatos. Íbamos buscando unos bajos en colores marrones que están en tendencia. No fue difícil visualizarlos ni elegir, porque las dos estuvimos de acuerdo en los que vimos. Me los medí y quedaron perfectos.
Honestly, I feel like our outing was a complete success. First of all, because we stuck to the plan; we had a list of what we were going to buy and we prioritized it, getting everything.
Honestamente, siento que nuestra salida fue todo un éxito. Primeramente, porque nos mantuvimos apegadas al plan; teníamos la lista de lo que íbamos a comprar y le dimos prioridad, consiguiendo todo.
Another factor in our success was that we were able to buy everything with very little money. In addition, some of the stores we visited allowed payment in installments, so we had no trouble getting what we wanted and didn't have to leave anything “for another time.”
Otro factor de nuestro éxito, es que con poco dinero, pudimos comprar todo. Además, de que en algunas de las tiendas que visitamos el pago se puede hacer en cuotas, entonces no tuvimos problemas en conseguir y no dejar "para una próxima oportunidad".
Finally, I loved everything we bought. I had no doubts about anything, and I can't wait to wear them for the first time 😊. I have so much confidence in Karla and her good taste because I can buy a pair of lace pants and feel DIVINE! 🤣. So she is my rational side and advises me on what looks best on me 💯.
Por último, me encantó todo lo que compramos, no quedé dudosa con nada, solo estoy ansiosa de que lleguen los días de estrenármelos 😊. Yo tengo demasiada confianza en Karla y su buen gusto, porque yo me puedo comprar un pantalón con encajes, y sentirme ¡DIVINA! 🤣. Así que ella es mi parte racional y me aconseja en lo que me queda mejor 💯.
In the end, we ended up walking along the promenade, eating, having a few drinks, because we were still celebrating my birthday, and then we said goodbye and went our separate ways to our homes.
Al final, terminamos caminando por el paseo, comimos, nos tomamos unas 🍻, porque seguimos celebrando mi cumple y nos despedimos para continuar cada una a nuestros hogares.
We don't spend much time together physically, but I am always there for her and she is always there for me. We enjoyed this outing and will soon meet up again to continue creating adventures 💞.
