Soy ingeniero. Me gradué en los años 80 y en la actualidad estoy jubilado. Por años disfruté de mi profesión. Gracias a ella viajé mucho, trabajé con empresas públicas y privadas de todos los tamaños. Fue una experiencia gratificante y muy sustanciosa en lo que respecta a las ganancias, porque con esos ingresos logré adquirir muchos bienes.
Después de haber trabajado para otras empresas, decidí junto con un amigo emprender por nuestra cuenta. Fue duro, pero lo logramos.
Hasta que un día me cansé de todo y quise retirarme, buscar un espacio en donde pudiera dedicarme a mi intelecto y a mi paz mental. Esto me llevó a salir de mi país y, como consecuencia, conocí otras culturas y muchas personas.
Tres años después decidí regresar y volver a ejercer mi profesión. Soy ingeniero.
Pero me encontré con que, con apenas tres años fuera del campo, la tecnología me había dejado atrás, y fue un gran golpe. Eso me sacudió de tal forma que quedé aturdido. Pero gracias al Todopoderoso supe reaccionar y, debido a que soy un curioso nato, busqué capacitarme en todo lo nuevo para adaptarme a los nuevos conceptos. No fue fácil, pero esa meta se superó.
Así ha pasado siempre: la tecnología no se detiene; es como la vida y el tiempo, siempre está en marcha y nada es obstáculo para ella.
En la actualidad, gracias a que no me eché a morir en esos tiempos, hoy en día soy una esponja a la hora de aprender. La IA me fascina y cada vez aprendo más de ella, y eso me da ventaja porque, como es lo que está en boga, me coloca entre los primeros, y eso significa ingresos.
La ingeniería de prompts es lo nuevo y allí estoy, pegado, asimilando, ejecutando y mirando nuevos horizontes.
Por ello, hoy en día sigo diciendo:
¡Soy ingeniero!
Y no como lo dice la frase de la iniciativa:
“I’m a engineer”
Una frase que está mal escrita en el idioma inglés, pero que he podido interpretar.
Lo correcto sería:
“I’m an engineer”

I’m an engineer
I’m an engineer. I graduated back in the 80s, and today, I am retired. For years, I truly enjoyed my profession. Thanks to it, I traveled extensively and worked with public and private companies of all sizes. It was a rewarding and very substantial experience in terms of earnings; those years allowed me to build a solid foundation and acquire many assets.
After working for others for a long time, a friend and I decided to start our own business. It was tough, but we made it happen.
Then, one day, I grew tired of it all and wanted to step back—to find a space where I could focus on my intellect and my peace of mind. This led me to leave my country, allowing me to experience new cultures and meet many people.
Three years later, I decided to return and practice my profession once again. I am an engineer.
However, I discovered that after only three years away from the field, technology had left me behind. It was a massive blow; it shook me to the point of feeling stunned. But thanks to the Almighty, I knew how to react. Being a naturally curious person, I sought training in everything new to adapt to the latest concepts. It wasn’t easy, but I cleared that hurdle.
It has always been this way: technology never stops. It’s like life and time—always moving forward, and nothing can stand in its way.
Currently, because I didn't give up back then, I am like a sponge when it comes to learning. AI fascinates me; I learn more every day, which gives me an edge. Since it’s the trend of our time, it keeps me at the forefront, and that translates into results.
Prompt engineering is the new frontier, and I am right there—glued to it, absorbing it, executing it, and looking toward new horizons.
That is why today I still say:
I’m an engineer!
And not as the phrase from the initiative says:
“I’m a engineer”
A phrase that is grammatically incorrect in English, but one I have been able to interpret.
The correct way would be:
“I’m an engineer”
