Good morning dear Friends and Photography Lovers🙌📸
Today I continue with my post about my country, and then my presence and photography at the ceremonial military parade on July 31, 2025 in Zagreb, the capital of my Croatia.
📜 When and how did modern Croatia come into being?
My Croatia declared its independence on June 25, 1991, after the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. The path to independence was difficult and bloody, but filled with the courage and determination of its people. International recognition followed in early 1992, and it became a member of the European Union on July 1, 2013.
A total of about 3,400 participants: members of the Croatian Army, Ministry of Interior, Civil Protection, Croatian National Rescue Service, firefighters, judicial police, veterans, historical units, and participants from nine allied countries
Croatia, located at the crossroads of Central Europe and the Mediterranean, is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe – with thousands of islands, crystal clear seas, and a rich cultural heritage
🕊️ Military-Police Operation Storm
From 4 to 7 August 1995, the Croatian Army and police carried out VRO Storm, one of the key operations in the Homeland War. This victory liberated large parts of the occupied territory, including the city of Knin – the symbol of the then Serbian rebellion. Operation Storm was crucial for the establishment of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Croatia.
And that's all for today, see you tomorrow with the next part. I took all the photos with a Nikon D750, 50mm lens. I cropped some of them quite a bit.
