The Silverbloggers Chronicles. #30 - Your Ideal Morning

Greetings. This week, our friends at Silverbloggers invite us to imagine our ideal morning. Let me tell you about it.

Since I was a child, I have loved the seaside. One of the things I enjoy most is being near the beach, walking on the sand, and watching the different changes in light throughout the day. When I was little, I imagined how wonderful it must be to camp on the beach. However, in those days, my parents didn't have that habit, and I had to wait until I was a teenager to see that dream come true.

The first time I stayed with friends by the sea was when I was seventeen. I remember it was during Holy Week. On that occasion, we went to Margarita Island, in northern Venezuela. After about five hours by bus and another four by ferry, we arrived on the island. At that time, there were no restrictions, and any place was good for camping. We headed to the island's capital and found a beach we liked near where the fishermen arrived early in the morning.

That beach looked like something out of a postcard. It had many coconut and beach grape trees, so it was easy to find shade when the sun was strongest. Very close to the beach, there was a gas station with a car wash. We made an agreement with the owner, and for a very small fee, he allowed us to use the water services and bathe with fresh water in the area where they washed the cars.

At that time, everyone treated visitors very well. We met a lady who lived a block from the beach and offered to look after our luggage so we could explore the island. We went out several times to explore that beautiful island using public transportation, usually minibuses that were very inexpensive.

We spent five days in Margarita, and I always tried to wake up early to see the first light of dawn. That spectacle of the dark sky changing as it gave way to light is one of the things I remember most fondly from that great trip.

A few years later, when I was already working and had my own car, I kept up the habit of camping on the beach. Many times, my wife, my young children, and I would set up our tent to welcome the day on the shore. I have no doubt that those mornings by the sea are one of the things I love most in life.

I haven't been back to the seaside in many years. Some things have changed, and it's not as safe as it used to be.

Since I can't camp on the beach anymore, one of the things I also like to do is get up very early, before dawn, and climb a hill near my house to watch the day break. Seeing that transformation of light and colors in the sky is something that relaxes my mind and gives me a lot of peace. I try to do it whenever I can.

Thank you for your time.

Lovely memories @irvinc! Life was so different back then; it was safe for us as well. Unlike today, where you only camp in the caravan parks where they have tent stands as well. With all the restrictions, one cannot just camp anywhere, even if it is safe.
Watching the sun rise is a lovely way to start the day!

In my country, there are very few places with organized camping areas. Normally, people arrive and pitch their tents wherever they like. I don't dare do that now. Thanks for stopping by and for your support, my dear @lizelle . A big hug from Maracay.

What a pity there aren't many camping areas!
Have a lovely weekend @irvinc, and hugs from Hillcrest, KZN!

Being connected with the sunrise is a beautiful way to start the day. I agree with you that watching the sea at sunrise is an unforgettable moment. I also had that experience by chance on Margarita Island, staying at a hotel that was connected to the beach. I would go out at dawn to walk on the sand and dip my toes in the sea. Those moments remain etched in my memory. 😊.

I was once in Puerto Cabello, in a place like the one you mentioned. The sea was less than a block away, and I often got up early to watch the sunrise—it's a wonderful experience. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, my dear @soyunasantacruz . A big hug from Maracay.
