Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't | INSTINCT

in Hive Learners3 days ago

When I worked at an eatery as the cashier, the system wasn't organised, and money could go missing without us knowing unless it was a huge amount. My chamber always has some of the workers around, and they have access to the drawer where we put cash because they stay on the seat whenever I'm sent out to attend to other matters.
Then, I started noticing that money was missing, and I had my instinct place on two ladies. These two ladies were very calm, not rough, and one couldn't connote them as thieves, but I just couldn't place my mind on others.

Not long enough, I caught one of them sneaking her hands into the drawer while we were all seated and watching the Television close to us. It was only my eyes that caught her hands sneaking in, and when she noticed it, she withdrew her hand quickly. I couldn't raise an alarm because I didn't catch her, or rather, she didn't succeed in a way I could have caught her red-handed. Fortunately for her, I didn't raise an alarm that could have given her a big stigma; I only reported to the manager, and I became unmovable from my seat anytime I'm on duty.
So I followed my instinct, and it worked.

But this doesn't mean that my instinct has been perfect. There have been times I decided to follow the prompting in me, and it ended in a bad way. There was a particular time I was having a thing in my mind towards a particular lady. From the casual hello, Hi and simple talks, I believed already that if I shoot my shot, it was going to work smoothly. When I finally did, I was greeted with not just the simple "No" but with many talks attached to it. This is why whenever I'm having the urge to approach any lady, I don't follow my instinct, expecting positive feedback. I just do it and take any outcome that comes out.

But aside from these, the instinct to run away from danger works out perfectly for me. Maybe it's the way I was brought up. I seldom see myself in danger; I always have the sense to stay off before it happens or to get away quickly before the moment happens.
There was a certain time when I was still in school, a fight broke out in the lodge close to ours, and honestly, I'm not fond of going to de-escalate a fight,, but when I heard that the people engaged in the fight were people I know, I wanted to rush to go and join in handling the situation, but my instinct told me to stay put. Some guys in our lodge went on, and a few minutes later, one of them ran back with fear and trembling. When I asked what made him run like that, he said cultists appeared on the scene and shot someone, definitely a student, in the leg, and the guy was rushed to the hospital. Maybe if I had gone, I would have been the victim.

Thanks for reading.
