LOH 274 // I Bought Something and Completely Forgot to Pay, Until I Got Home

in Ladies of Hive16 hours ago

We all have those moments when everything seems to go according to plan until, out of nowhere, something goes completely sideways. I had one of those moments recently, and it was a mix of embarrassing and surprisingly funny.

So, a few days ago, I was out running errands and decided to stop by a store to grab a few things I might need for that weekend. And as usual, I have my list with me, it was a long one, but my mission was simple, stock up on some essentials. I was done pretty quickly, picking out the perfect thing I need. I was feeling pretty proud of myself because I've initially thought it will take much longer before I will be done.

So on my way back home, I remembered that it's a while I refilled my gas and it might finish at any time so I need backup and I decide to buy charcoal just incase I might need it. I've already took the charcoal holding the money I wanted to pay when the seller was asking me something else and before I know it, the rain suddenly started and when I remembered that I left something the rain can spoil outside, I started running without thinking twice, I don't even remember that I haven't paid.

The whole time I was running home, the only thing on my mind is what I left outside. I was mentally thinking and praying for what I left outside to be safe and when I got home, someone has already packed it up for me and I was happy. I took everything inside and ready to cook when I noticed that I was holding something and I thought it was a paper and just threw it inside the dustbin. My husband picked it up and said your money is too much and you are even throwing it outbth It was his voice that jot my memory.

When I told him I haven't pay for the charcoal the charcoal I bought, he was only looking at me and told me to go back and pay for it. I have to drag him along so that they will not look at me like I did it intentionally because I was sure they already have that thought. When I got there, I awkwardly explained what had happened and apologized for the mix-up. She didn’t even blink, just shrugged and said, “It happens. No worries, I’ve seen worse!” and later said I was waiting for you to come back and if you did not come, I would have come by myself ".

I said I'm sorry more than 100 times before leaving the shop. Honestly, when I got home, I stood in one spot for a good minute, staring at my kitchen, just processing how ridiculous this whole thing was. How do you forget to pay for something you knew you need and bought? It was one of those situations where I had no one to blame but myself.

It was a little embarrassing, but hey, sometimes these things happen.

Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
