Saludos y bendiciones, mis queridos amigos de @lifestyle, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien. Hoy vengo por aquí a contarles algo sobre mi salud. Primero quiero decirles que desde el lunes ando con un dolor terrible, creo que es el ciático o algo lumbar o en el peor de los casos algo del riñón que creo que no es, porque ya fui al médico este día que le muestro acá en las fotos, el médico me revisó y según él no es de riñón; sin embargo, me mandó hacer un examen de uroanálisis, el cual me lo estuve haciendo el día de hoy en la mañana. También me colocaron un medicamento inyectable llamado Dexametasona para el dolor y le estaba contando al médico que prácticamente los medicamentos que son para el dolor no me ayudan mucho o por lo menos no todos. Y así me pasó con este, seguí con el dolor; sin embargo, me mandó un tratamiento y entre una de las pastillas que fui a comprar a la farmacia sí me hizo un poco más de efecto y ya me siento bastante mejor gracias a Dios. Y ya será mañana que vaya a buscar los resultados del examen de orina.
Por otro lado, les cuento que ayer también fui a hacerme un estudio llamado Mamografía en la Clínica Oriente, donde pasé todo el día prácticamente hasta las 5 de la tarde. Bueno, aproveché y salí a otra clínica a hacerme lo que ya les conté antes para así aprovechar el tiempo de espera.
De todas maneras, esperé demasiado, era la número 13, pero estos estudios tardan bastante según la patología que tenga cada una de las pacientes y en este caso se estaban haciendo ecos mamarios, la mamografía y también densitometría ósea, este último yo no me lo hice.
Esta mamografía me la estuve realizando porque la semana pasada me hice un eco mamario con esta doctora y me recomendó que por favor tenía que hacerme la mamografía, puesto que esta es indispensable que cada mujer se la haga a partir de los 35 años anualmente y ya yo tengo 41 y no me la había realizado.
Estuve contándole que mi hermana murió de cáncer de mama, perdió la batalla en contra de esta enfermedad tan horrible a tan solo 32 años de edad hace 5 años y aun así yo no me había motivado a tomar la decisión de hacerme este examen, puesto que mucha gente difiere en su efectividad.
Bueno, me han dicho que cuando tocan los senos con esa máquina los senos los aplastan, puede que sí tienes alguna sintomatología te puede hacer peor; sin embargo, los médicos dicen que este estudio es lo mejor para prevenir el cáncer de mama, puesto que se puede visualizar mucho mejor las anomalías que se puedan presentar en las mamas.
Y si en esa máquina que venían en las fotos colocan el seno y lo aplastan como que fuera una arepa, duele un poco, es algo soportable. Me dieron un CD con el contenido del estudio de mamografía, también me hicieron el eco y me dieron una fotografías de este, en donde se ha evidenciado 3 quistes y también un reporte escrito con lo que se observó en la mamografía, que al parecer no se veía nada malo, pero como yo no soy experta, estos estudios junto con la citología que me realicé hace poco también tengo que llevársela la semana que viene a mi ginecóloga
Y bueno, todos estos estudios aprovecho de hacérmelos en este mes de octubre rosa en donde se hacen grandes campañas de concientización sobre el cáncer de mama, algo que tenemos que tener muy en cuenta todas las mujeres e incluso los hombres que también pueden padecer de esa enfermedad que ha acabado con la vida de tantas personas en nuestro país y en el mundo.
Así que si estás en edad de hacerte este estudio, sería bueno que tomaras la decisión de realizárselo y espero que puedas contar con los medios económicos para hacerlo y esta vez este estudio me salió en $30 dólares, un poco más económicos por el mes de rosa. Una decisión que tuve que tomar por mi salud y prevenir algo peor.

My first mammogram

They also gave me an injectable medication called Dexamethasone for the pain, and I was telling the doctor that pain medications don't really help me much, or at least not all of them. That's what happened with this one; I still had pain. However, he prescribed a treatment, and one of the pills I bought at the pharmacy did have a little more effect, and I feel much better now, thank God. On another note, yesterday I also went to have a mammogram at the Oriente Clinic, where I spent practically the whole day until 5 pm. Well, I took advantage of the waiting time and went to another clinic to have the test I mentioned earlier.

However, doctors say that this test is the best way to prevent breast cancer, since it allows for much better visualization of any abnormalities that may be present in the breasts.
They place the breast and flatten it as if it were a pancake. It hurts a little, but it's bearable. They gave me a CD with the results of the mammogram, and they also did an ultrasound and gave me photos of it, which showed three cysts, as well as a written report of what was observed in the mammogram, which apparently showed nothing wrong, but since I'm no expert, I have to take these tests, along with the Pap smear I had done recently, to my gynecologist next week.
Well, I'm taking advantage of this Pink October to have all these tests done, as there are major awareness campaigns about breast cancer, something that all women and even men, who can also suffer from this disease that has claimed the lives of so many people in our country and around the world, need to be very aware of.
So, if you are of an age to have this test done, it would be a good idea to make the decision to have it done, and I hope you have the financial means to do so. This time, the test cost me $30, which is a little cheaper because of Pink October. It was a decision I had to make for my health and to prevent something worse.
