Hola, mi gente linda de @needleworkmonday, un gusto visitarlos, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien y con esa creatividad activada para realizar distintos proyectos. El día de hoy vengo a mostrarles esta bonita creación que estuve haciendo meses atrás y entre tantos proyectos no se los había compartido y me quedo muy bonito a pesar de que era apenas el segundo traje de baño qué hacía, el primero fue el de Ámbar, que también la ven con su hermana en las fotos con su traje de baño morado como ella lo quería.
Para realizarlo, estuve usando una tela de licra de color fucsia. Fue el color que ella escogió. La tela es un poco opaca, pero de muy buena calidad.
También usé una tela de forro blanca, para esto le pedí sugerencias a la chica que me atendió en la tienda. Es bastante delicada, suave y cumple su función.
Primero hice los patrones y luego los fui colocando en la tela para ir marcando y cortando cada pieza.
Cuando fui a hacer estos trajes de baño, fui haciendo los pasos para los dos trajes de baño sucesivamente y así se me hiciera más fácil a la hora de confeccionar.

Teniendo todo marcado y cortado es más fácil coser y llevar un orden, así también puedo tomar mejor las fotos, aunque, como les digo, andaba a las carreras, casi ni fotos tomé.
Ya les había mostrado paso a paso cómo hice el traje de baño de Ámbar. Con este fui haciendo lo mismo, por lo menos en la pantaleta que viene con su falda. Está con una tela de maya con brillo muy lindo, además la hice forrada y con una pretina.
Ese modelo fue el que les gustó a las dos, así no usaban pareo y se ven más tapado y cómodo para lucirlo en la playa o en la piscina.
La parte de arriba, la hice doble con costura por el centro y lo más importante, le coloqué una tela que es gruesa, que ahorita no recuerdo el nombre, pero le dicen tela de uso, le da cuerpo al traje de baño y cubre más.
Colocarle los tirantes fue un desafío, para qué quedarán centrados, pero se logró gracias a Dios. Le coloqué en las puntas un acabado con un cordón plateado que le dio ese especial y que combinaba con la pequeña falda de la parte de abajo.
Por aquí les dejo a mis modelos, mis hijas Arianna con el traje de baño fucsia y a Ámbar con su traje de baño morado.
Aquí estábamos en la fiesta de promoción de Ámbar, en donde lo pasamos demasiado bien y luego le estaré compartiendo esta experiencia, entre amigos y familia.
Como ven, se veían preciosas mis niñas, aunque la falda se les pegaba toda de la piel, je, je, je.
Todavía me quedaron unos retazos de telas para hacerme un traje de baño para mí de los dos colores, pero entre una cosa y otra no lo he hecho. A lo mejor se lo haga a mi hija mayor uno de estos días y creo que sale mejor.

A swimsuit for my princess Arianna

Today I'm here to show you this beautiful creation that I made a few months ago. With so many projects on the go, I hadn't shared it with you yet, but I'm really happy with how it turned out, even though it was only the second swimsuit I'd ever made. The first one was for Amber, who you can also see with her sister in the photos wearing her purple swimsuit, just as she wanted.
To make it, I used fuchsia-colored Lycra fabric. That was the color she chose. The fabric is a little opaque, but very good quality.
I also used white lining fabric. I asked the girl who helped me at the store for suggestions. It's quite delicate, soft, and does the job.
First, I made the patterns and then placed them on the fabric to mark and cut each piece.
When I went to make these swimsuits, I followed the steps for both swimsuits successively, which made it easier for me when it came to sewing.

I had already shown you step by step how I made Amber's swimsuit. I did the same with this one, at least with the panties that come with the skirt. It's made of a very pretty shiny mesh fabric, and I also lined it and added a waistband.
That was the style that both of them liked, so they didn't have to wear a sarong and they look more covered up and comfortable to wear at the beach or pool.
I made the top double with a seam down the middle and, most importantly, I added a thick fabric, which I can't remember the name of right now, but they call it "tela de uso" (utility fabric). It gives the swimsuit body and provides more coverage.
Attaching the straps was a challenge, as I wanted them to be centered, but thank God I managed it. I finished the ends with a silver cord, which gave it that special touch and matched the little skirt at the bottom.
Here are my models, my daughters Arianna in the fuchsia swimsuit and Ámbar in her purple swimsuit.
We were at Ámbar's graduation party, where we had a great time, and I'll be sharing this experience with you soon, among friends and family.
As you can see, my girls looked beautiful, even though the skirt stuck to their skin, hehehe.
I still have some fabric scraps left over to make myself a swimsuit in both colors, but between one thing and another, I haven't done it yet. Maybe I'll make one for my older daughter one of these days, and I think it will turn out better.
