Hey Actifitters,
With the heat wave still at full force, the plan was similar for yesterday: multiple short breaks in the yard and the small forest behind the front yard.
In spite of the heat, Kaia wanted to check out all the new scents of course.
We roamed a bit in the neighborhood too, but usually stopped at the sun/shade limit.
Finally, I thought we could try and make it to the bigger forest. The majority of the way to get there was in the shade, so we went for it.
Of course, Kaia was happy to be out there but clearly suffering from the heat.
She forgot all about it when we surprised a baby deer near the entrance. That's the second time we see that baby deer by itself around the same area. That's strange. Often, deer we see hang out in groups. It's quite rare to see one alone, and even less one that is so young. I hope it finds its parents or siblings soon. For sure, Kaia didn't ask all these questions and just chased it.
It may be small but it's fast and Kaia had no chance to catch it luckily.
We didn't walk much longer in the forest after that, again, too hot. When we got back home, Le Chat was there just conserving energy. We should listen to her, she's a wise cat!
Like the day before, I thought a bike ride would be a good activity in the heat. And of course, it's often a good opportunity to catch the sunset.
And to find a few places that are a bit too far to walk to.
Well, we suffered from this heat, but we managed to stay active again. Let's see if we can keep doing the same this week, as it's supposed to stay very hot.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
