In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.
Starting in May, I started to create a playlist to keep track of the last songs I commented on in my posts. It will be useful for me not to doubt if I had already talked about a song before or not. The last song is Corazón of Los Autenticos Decadentes.
N.Y STATE OF MIND: Nas
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is N.Y State of Mind of the american artist Nas.
Since I was a teenager I have always been a big hip-hop listener. My first contact with the genre was playing multiplayer Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, where someone had put on a stereo with songs by Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and other artists of the style. From that moment on, I was hooked.
After being introduced to the world of hip-hop, I discovered iconic bands like N.W.A and Cypress Hill, as well as legendary artists like 50 Cent, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, among many others. I was quite interested in finding new music from artists of the time, so I started listening to various Hip-Hop playlists, where I found several songs from artists such as Rakin, Eric B and Nas.
The first song I heard from the artist is the one that became my favorite “Streat Dream”. Beyond that song, I have also rescued some songs that I really liked such as The Message, If i Ruled The World, The World is Yours, Nas Is Like, It Ain't Hard to Tell and N.Y State of Mind.
Nas is a rapper born in 1973 in New York, United States. He grew up in the neighborhood of Queensbridge, a rather humble place where crime, poverty and inequality were part of everyday life.
He achieved global fame thanks to his debut album called Illmatic, which is considered one of the most important albums in the history of rap. This album included hits such as N.Y State of Mind, The World is Yours and It ain't Hard to tell.
Before announcing the winner of tonight's giveaway. I will share my game statistics on Rising Star, which I gathered using a tool that I created in Rising Star Utils. The new format will be similar to the one we used some time ago, using the Hive Tools application. However, the application didn't always work, so this time we will be using a Discord bot that is in charge of returning a winner from among all the comments on a Hive post.
