Rising Star - My Daily song choice, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Perro Andaluz: Seru Giran

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

Starting in May, I started to create a playlist to keep track of the last songs I commented on in my posts. It will be useful for me not to doubt if I had already talked about a song before or not. The last song is Dream a Little Dream of Me of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Perro Andaluz of the argentine rock-group Seru Giran.

Since my early years of life, I have been influenced by my mother's music. In her youth, she lived the golden years of Argentine national rock, so it was her who introduced me to this kind of music in my early years. Thanks to her, I listened to songs by bands like VIrus, Seru Giran, Los Abuelos de la Nada, Los Twitz and artists like Charly Garcia, Andres Calamaro and Fito Paez.

During my teenage years, I started to discover Argentine rock from the 2000s thanks to Spotify recommendations. That's how I got to know bands like Los Piojos, Intoxicados, Attaque 77, among many others.

However, it was not until a few years ago where I wondered why Charly Garcia was considered one of the best artists of the genre. It was enough to listen to just a few songs of Clics Modernos to understand why many consider him the best. From that moment on, I became a complete fan of Charly Garcia. Today, I listen to him frequently and I have more than 45 of his songs marked with “Me Gusta”.

After getting to know Charly García's solo work, I was curious to explore his stage in one of his most emblematic bands: Serú Girán. The first songs that caught my attention were Perro Andaluz, Viernes 3 A.M. and Peperina.

Perro Andaluz is a song by Seru Giran that was released in 1979 for the group's second album called “La Grasa de las capitales”. It has 4,000,000 plays on Spotify and 1,500,000 on the Youtube platform.
