In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Worst Come To Worst from the hip-hop band Dilated Peoples.
Strangers In The Night: Frank Sinatra
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Strangers In The Night from the legendary artist Frank Sinatra.
In my latest selections, I've been bringing in quite a diversity of music, including hip-hop, rock ‘n’ roll, quartet, cumbia, electronica, and even dubstep. But among those selections, one of the genres I'm most passionate about was still missing: jazz and classical music.
My history with classical music began after playing one of the most famous video games of its genre: Fallout 4. The truth is that the story and the whole atmosphere in which the game took place had completely captured my interest and led me to try many more games in the series. One of the things I liked most about Fallout New Vegas was the great soundtrack that accompanied the adventure in the post-apocalyptic desert of Las Vegas.
Since the game is based on a future in which the Cold War had not ended, some things from that era were preserved, such as music. The Bethesda team did a great job and included several classic hits by artists such as The Ink Spots, Billie Holiday, T-Bone Walker, Roy Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Marty Robbins, and Frank Sinatra. In fact, Frank Sinatra's song Blue Moon was selected by the team for the video game's intro cinematic.
My second encounter with Frank Sinatra came when one of my favorite TV series, Better Call Saul, featured a scene in which a cover version of one of the artist's most iconic songs, Something Stupid, was played. That led me to look for the original song, and honestly, it has become one of my favorite songs by the artist.
After that, I ended up exploring more songs by the artist and found many songs that I liked, among my favorites being my choice today: Strangers in the Night.
Frank Sinatra was one of the most important artists in the history of music. He began his career in the 1930s as an orchestra singer, where he gradually established himself until he had the opportunity to start his solo career. By the 1940s, he had achieved several hits such as All or Nothing at All, From The Bottom Of My Heart, and Ciribiribin.
Strangers in the Night was one of the artist's most successful songs. It was released in 1966 on the album of the same name. This song was very important in helping him recover from the ups and downs he had been experiencing in his career for several years, allowing him to once again position himself as one of the most important artists in his genre.
